If they actually changed the in-game text of the European version to reflect this, I'm going to cry from laughing so hard.

There is no one to blame for this but the great Australian laws when it comes to this, it would probably been banned there or something.

Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
Well its a good thing my fictional shooting game protagonists are of legal age so I can sex with them.
Looking forward to what other 18+ ages they will change for the other characters as well. What are they going to do when DS2 gets eventually localized with Supe?
They might have to increase their breast sizes as well in the games art, someone might think they just cleverly slapped on age 18 thing when they're actually children!Zeron wrote:There is no one to blame for this but the great Australian laws when it comes to this, it would probably been banned there or something.

Great new over the slowdown issue

"Western" usually refers to "American" most times that the term is used, so the post felt like you were singling out Americans as being loli otakus, but it seems your version of "Western" may have meant "anything that's not Asia."TrevHead (TVR) wrote:?? I thought western always refereed to North America and Western Europe. Or did i miss something when the Arabs were complaining about Western decadence in the UK as well as Yankee-town?MachineAres 1CC wrote:"Western" usually refers to "American" most times that the term is used, so the post felt like you were singling out Americans as being loli otakus, but it seems your version of "Western" may have meant "anything that's not Asia."

Historicaly means Western European.
Western Europe (EEC+EFTA) + Americas (posibly excluding south) + Australia is normal currently.
Why Japan isn't considered a Western country is the odd bit, it's developed + was alied apropriately during the cold war.

Certainly at work when we write about the games industry's geography 'Western' refers to Europe and the American land-mass.
I think it covers Australia and NZ too.

Technically, she'd be 16 now anyway since the arcade game was released 3 years ago.TrevHead (TVR) wrote:I can imagine some western otaku dieing from shock when he finds out his lolis have suddenly got older

It does indeed
Anyway, as the kind of fool that has bought every version of DeathSmiles so far (bar the PCB) this is wicked news. While I own the US LE, I can't play it so finally I will have an English version of my favourite games ever

Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
Sorry for the double post but I'd missed this. There is nothing whatsoever in the Classification laws that will prevent this being released here in Australia. The stark reality is that most retailers simply wont bother picking it up due to demand, nothing more.Zeron wrote:There is no one to blame for this but the great Australian laws when it comes to this, it would probably been banned there or something.
Which is why I simply order from the UK at such times

I'm sure the army of pedo weeaboo at sankaku complex is already crying and throwing tantrums at this "Nazi anti free speech western world" that forbids them to legally enjoy their loli.

Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
Just saw that play.com offers Deathsmiles: Deluxe Edition for 35€ and that made me thinking of pre-ordering it. Does someone know if the PAL Deluxe comes with the same stuff like the US Deluxe? Or does Europe only get the DLC on the Disc with "Deluxe Edition" printed on it's cover? :\
Edit:
Edit2: That just had to happen... directly after finding my answer someone posts it, but still thanks Elixir. :) But *slap* for sounding so pessimistic about the DE.
Edit:
Hm... sounds good to me, to bad it sounds like that there is no faceplate like in the US. I hope it comes at least in some kind of big box. D:game.co.uk wrote: The European release features a complete version of the game, including the Mega Black Label downloadable content on the disc, as well as a soundtrack CD and desktop accessory pack.

What this really means is that you're getting a burnt CD with a bunch of wallpapers taken from the game along with some cursors made out of Patchucon sprites taken from some Pixiv account.

PAL version also comes with the OST (not the crappy AST that came with the JPN LE).

Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
According to Rising Star's press release for Deathsmiles, at least, it was an "official" product in Japan -Elixir wrote:What this really means is that you're getting a burnt CD with a bunch of wallpapers taken from the game along with some cursors made out of Patchucon sprites taken from some Pixiv account.
The official soundtrack and desktop accessory pack was release in Japan as a single offering, retailing at the equivalent of over £25, and was never included in the Japanese and US versions of the game. Combined with a CD featuring 23 tracks, the desktop accessory pack offers fans the ability to kit out their PC for a full Deathsmiles experience.

Do you really need to pre-order it? I've only bought one PAL game for my 360 (Tekken 6 for the stick) so I have no clue.Zeron wrote:I love how I can't find any store in Sweden where I can preorder Death Smiles, do I really need to start importing PAL games from the UK..

Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
I'm not sure how much of a retail presence Deathsmiles will have in the UK, but I'd be happy to pick-up and send out a copy or two overseas for the cost of postage if that would help anybody struggling with pre-ordering for an overseas address (and only two or three of you were interested).
