Crimzon Clover
Re: Crimzon Clover
No, by extend issue I mean the number of extra lives you could get on 0.30, which totally destroyed the difficulty curve.

Re: Crimzon Clover
Oh, also, there's a chaining element to scoring - your multiplier decreases very gradually when not directly damaging (read: shooting or lock-on) enemies. This means that shot is necessary to keep your multiplier up, because locking on implies long waiting periods between each kill. That's kind of annoying, but I still love scoring.
Oh, and Tyjet beat the TLBs on Original.
Oh, and Tyjet beat the TLBs on Original.
Re: Crimzon Clover
And an added difficulty to that lock-on multiplier is the fact that enemies need to be killed for it to maintain, so enemies that you can destroy the top of and have the body remaining don't count until it's completely dead.RNGmaster wrote:Oh, also, there's a chaining element to scoring - your multiplier decreases very gradually when not directly damaging (read: shooting or lock-on) enemies. Re: Crimzon Clover
The rate at which multiplier drains gets faster as you go, so keeping multiplier up with break is vital.

Re: Crimzon Clover
It's not a real huge deal, though, since if you break a lot and increase multiplier in break you have a huge safety cushion to fall back on.

Ugh... Got to Stage 5 Last Boss and I lost all my lives on his last phase.... except one, got the TLB and died.

Apparently, I got the Type Z ship without all clearing. I don't remember what I was doing, but I was on simple mode with Type Two ship and 1cced stages 1-5+boss. Then I 1cced the first TLB and made the 2nd TLB appear and died. Then that's when I got Ship Z to appear in the shop.
I'm thinking there are other factors in there, but that's all I can think of.
sorry for the mix up. Hope this helps

Re: Crimzon Clover
Okay, I just 1CC'd Simple Mode with Type-I ship. Type-Z hasn't appeared yet.
I did do both TLB's, I will do it again with the Type-II ship now and see what happens.
Just an FYI, if you read my edited post above, the MY SHIP TYPE-Z ROLL OUT (no idea what all the extra shit means), is now in the shop for an insane price.

"MYSHIP" is probably just some string name in the data files. "ROLL OUT" is obvious.
I heard this thing has triple break, I hope not.

Re: Crimzon Clover
Are you fucking me. Also, lol at the price. I played the demo for 12 hours and only got 700k items. The notion of grinding for unlocks goes against bullet-hell methodology, but it's not a huge part of the game, nor are the unlocks really vital for the experience, so... it's not a big problem.Despatche wrote: I heard this thing has triple break, I hope not.

And the fact you get a lot more stars now, I think it only took me two or three runs of Original Mode to get enough for Type-II and Unlimited Mode.RNGmaster wrote:Are you fucking me. ?? I don't see another power bar for double break. When I'm in break mode it just says "Now Breaking"....Icarus wrote:Can't really explain the scoring fully just yet with regards to point multiplication, star items etc, as I'm still experimenting with the system, but a few guesses (and I make that absolutely clear, this is speculation based on limited play experience):burgerkingdiamond wrote:I second this, and also what is this double break I've heard about?mjclark wrote:Just a quick stupid question then- Have we got a breakdown of the exact scoring mechanics anywhere and especially what exactly are the mechanics determining Break Rate?
I looked in the strategy section but don't done see nothin' there...
1) Break Rate is the amount of hits you've done total in stage. When increasing Break Rate by lock-on, the total hits added from that attack is multiplied by the Lock-On Multiplier that activates when you get a large amount of lock-on kills at once.
2) Underneath the Break Rate counter is two power bars - Break Mode is available when you completely fill the top-most bar, while a Bomb is available if you fill it over half-way.
3) The second of the two bars is a secondary power bar that starts to fill if the top-most bar is already full - this secondary power bar is used to fill up the top-most bar when Break Mode is activated.
4) Break Mode is the primary scoring mode. When active, on-screen bullets are converted into star items for a second or two, your current Break Rate count is doubled, the amount of added hits to the Break Rate counter is also doubled, and your attack power is greatly increased. You have roughly five or six seconds to boost your Break Rate and to fill your primary power bar again.
5) Double Break Mode is available if you manage to fill up the top-most power bar while you are in Break Mode. Activating Double Break Mode quadruples your base Break Rate counter, quadruples the rate in which you gain hits, and give you an even bigger power boost. It also adds 100% or more back to your Break Timer, which is handy if you manage to activate Double Break when you have less than 10% remaining on your current Break Timer.
The key to scoring is to both no-miss each stage (nice NM bonuses available), and also to drive your Break Rate through the roof by activating Double Break Mode as many times as you can per stage. I've had x8500+ on st2 before, and you can get much more on later stages.

It was a joke. there no triple break, or is there?Despatche wrote:I heard this thing has triple break, I hope not.
I took some time to practice the last bosses with Type-Z in unlimited mode. There's actually 6 stages. Both TLB gets their own stage, stage 6. Here some pics for those of those of you who are itching to see it.
1st TLB (TLB vs TLB!):

2nd TLB: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b239/ ... 202341.jpg
2nd TLB attack at its WORST. The attack progressively get worse as its life drains:

Re: Crimzon Clover
Is the 2nd TLB's attack still really fast like it is in Original Mode?
I just cleared 1CC'd it on Original after a few tries, and the speed the bullets move in is impossible to twitch dodge, you have to memorize the patterns. Was wondering, it can't possibly still be that fast in Unlimited Mode? Be no time to dodge at all.

There is some extra omake on the high score entry screen...
If you time it such that a tank is beneath your current letter in the grid, you will get a few extra points when you hit fire.

When he starts to spaz out its bullet, that's when you'll see a speed increase. I have to replay it to confirm itDemetori wrote:Is the 2nd TLB's attack still really fast like it is in Original Mode?
I made a video of showcasing the last boss and the two TBLs with ship Z in unlimited mode. I died when the 2nd tlb began to go crazy (There's a big lag in the controller I'm using too). A lot of the effect are disable to see the patterns better.
I have a crappy recorder setup, so when I recorded this there are lagging and quality issues. I also did this on an old computer so some errors in sound and speed appear, especially near the end.

Would it be hyperbole to say that this game is reaching CAVE like levels of quality and awesomeness?
At the very least it's making every doujin game look like like amateur hour. This is really something special. I'm glad I download the trial only a few days ago and haven't been waiting for months for the few release like so many others.

I agree. Very few doujin games have this level of quality, polish and overall madness. I have a "Quartet of Doujin STG Kings" throne where Kamui, Hellsinker, Diadra Empty and now Crimzon Clover sit, with several others closely following.burgerkingdiamond wrote:Would it be hyperbole to say that this game is reaching CAVE like levels of quality and awesomeness?

Bear in mind it took Yotsubane like 5 years to get this done. Good things take their time. I think it's also a huge indication (and a scream at CAVE) that the platform is starving for commercial STGs, that people are willing to buy them (even on a platform where they always cry you a river about piracy, as if console isos and such don't exist), especially when they are not fucking region locked or stuff like that. Guess it's a matter of spamming the Steam forums, lol.
The celestial cataract of stars really is a sight to behold, especially when you do one in double break mode with a full lock-on. The TLB is one tough bastard. But I thought the second form was a joke? SFKhoa said it, please don't shatter my dreams, I want to at least think I can 1cc this beast!
And Unlimited mode has to be one of the most brutal things I've ever tried. Relentless, remorseless, ruthless. It reminded me of recent CAVE games at a high rank, but much worse. And much more colourful. Purple is boring.

NOW REACHES THE FATAL ATTRACTION BE DESCRIBED AS "HELLSINKER". DECIDE DESTINATION.
