Or for re-sell value and collecting purposes...which makes sense. I'm totally fine with digital copies, as long as there is a "physical" copy as well.Udderdude wrote:It's that damn plastic and cellophane fetish, I tell ya. Same thing with their collection of anime figure models and shit.

Re: Crimzon Clover Trial Version Released
I just had a first play of Crimzon Clover and geezus fucking christ the music is good. And the game has so much worth now, excuse me while I go drown in this for all night.
Just some information on things people were wanting.
These are in the Limiter Shop.
Logo Skip 1000
Takeoff Skip 1000
Ship Type-II 100000 (Not sure why the second ship is so expensive, so I can't say if it's harder to use yet or not)
There's a section for playing specific stages in the shop. This extends through all modes, Simple, Original and Unlimited.
So for example:
Original Stage Select 1
Original Stage Select 1 BOSS
Apart from this stuff, there are a bunch of secret shop items, not sure how to unlock those yet!

Re: Crimzon Clover Trial Version Released
First and foremost, good luck to those going for the 1CC even in Original Mode. I don't see me 1CC'n it until I've got the placement of my breaks perfect.
Looks like all the bosses have been beefed up in some way, except for the first boss. Exactly the same from what I can tell.
I'm yet to make it to Stage 4, the Stage 3 bosses final phase is a real pain in the ass for me, I think it's more a personal skill thing.
It's similar to one of the bosses in Eden's Aegis where there's multiple lasers shot out in all directions, and you're stuck in one of the pie quarters while it rotates anti-clockwise, bullets coming at you at the same time.
At the end of a stage on Original you get to pick two power-ups. Energy up or 1up.
As you play through the stages you unlock sound files in the shop.
When you unlock stage select you can pick ship type, mode and the percentage of your break gauge.

This is just so you guys can seen how the scoring is working.
I'm expecting to see scores like Giga Wing.
Just as an added note, it looks like when you use lock-on and get kills with it you can catch multiplier, I think it maxes a 2.1x
So if you keep getting kills with the lock-on in succession I think it contributes to your energy bar filling up faster and score.
EDIT:
I got the multiplier stuff a bit wrong.
It's to do with the locking mechanic.
◆6ロック ×1.2倍
◆7ロック ×1.4倍
・
・
・
◆23ロック ×4.6倍
◆24ロック ×4.8倍
This is per-target locking, so 24 locked targets is x4.8 multiplier.

Re: Crimzon Clover
Now, I'm soooo looking forward getting this game. The first doujin ever that I ordered. The videos looks so tight, the scoring-mechanic looks very promising and yeah, from the looks of it, it feels almost like an AAA-Production. And it comes in a nice DVD-Box to put in my shelve! *purr*
Thanks Rancor, I hope you received my order in Time and are able to ship it out with the first batch.

Re: Crimzon Clover
Three questions:
-Do boss patterns substantially change, or are there just more bullets? If so, some examples (I've played all the way through the trial, so I remember all the patterns) would be great.
-How easy is it to get Double Break?
-Is there replay saving?

-The patterns are the same as the trial version ones, but there are extra patterns now. I would call them minor, so don't expect much trouble from them.RNGmaster wrote:Three questions:

Example: Stage 2 - Boss: After the two lasers are fired, the boss will ram you sending a hail of pink bullets upwards, but at the same there are bullets floating around making it hard to avoid rams after that.
-Double Break is easy to get when there are a lot of enemies to lock-on, the multiplier for the lock-on mechanic comes in to play here. The higher the multiplier the faster the energy bar charges. You can also charge both bars before using double break, which opens up a lot of options since you can use the initial break and not have to worry about charging it for the double break. I've experimented with this a bit but I can't really tell if it helps score much, survivability; yes.
-There's no replay saving, unless it's a hidden unlock shop feature.
Hope that answers your questions, if you have any more feel free to ask.

Re: Crimzon Clover
Damn it at no replay saving, but that's a hard feature to implement. I doubt that Yotsu would leave such an important feature as a secret unlockable, so I guess I'll have to content myself with live runs.
Are the graphics or music significantly different/better from those in ver. 0.20?

It ain't replays but you can use the Stage Select mode in a similar vein.
And who knows, maybe he'll patch in some features.

I have a lot of trouble when he opens up and starts spinning beams anti-clockwise and flinging bullets.
Nothing on the Stage 5 boss yet, I got to him and lost my last life right there.. not sure what I was suppose to do.

I've heard there's a TLB. The track listings seem to confirm this.
Oh, and if you've unlocked Unlimited, is the scoring system different from how it is in Original/Simple?

Nope, there's more bullets so the scores go insanely high. Bout' it, among the obvious.RNGmaster wrote:I've heard there's a TLB. The track listings seem to confirm this.

Honestly having more fun seriously scoring in Unlimited Mode.

Re: Crimzon Clover
In Unlimited mode the task seems to be able to remain alive for more than 10 seconds by use and (ab)use of the Double Break to keep everything at bay while shit falls at such merciless levels even CAVE games look tame. Yeah, I'm exaggerated like that
But it really is hard. Maybe there is a "way" to make it more accessible, some scoring trick or whatever.
Anyway, this game is the reason I want freaking official CAVE PC ports on Steam pushing hardware to its limits, making so-called Crysis-capable computers weep and cry when the screen explodes in stars. Or something like that.
Whatever, Crimzon Clover is the king, the highlight of 2010/2011 and it'll be a while before we get something as beastly as this. It took the guy 5 years to develop it... And I haven't seen so many shit on screen since Diadra Empty EX4-EX5.
The featured shop will surely and probably start a good trend of avoiding the inclusion of continues from the go and the need of BUYING THEM WITH SKILL. Forget about getting infinite continues over time or stuff like that. Wanna see what's next? Fail less and work your ass for it. Punishing? Maybe!
So, yeah, like I said somewhere else:
Crimzon Motherfucking Clover is like a big, mean, badass meteorite that crashes on you and floats back to space to crash on you AGAIN.
And again. And it leaves you asking for more while it asks for some space in that top hat fantastiku tea party (cue Platine Dispositif) with Ketsui and Ray Force.

Re: Crimzon Clover
Scoring in Unlimited and surviving is the same as the trial, hasn't changed.
You target the bigger enemies for bullet cancelling, it's heavy memorization and any small screw-up will completely fuck you over unless break.

Re: Crimzon Clover
I honestly didn't enjoy the scoring in the trial very much and was very sceptical about the double break thing. But I have to admit the scoring system is way better now since you don't have to spam full lockon all the time to score anymore.
Re: Crimzon Clover
Yeah, and hopefully people aren't drawn back by the double-break on the earlier levels, because in the later ones you'll wish you had it.LtC wrote:I honestly didn't enjoy the scoring in the trial very much and was very sceptical about the double break thing. Re: Crimzon Clover
Double-Break (and Break mode) appear to increase difficulty throughout their duration so that balances things out a bit, right? (as in: for a full lock-on you have to stop shooting and the enemy fire rate skyrockets during Break modes so you have the blink of an eye to start shooting or say goodbye)
Anyway, funny how you even have to buy the skips, I hope at least that isn't copied by others, lol.

You can do half a run and quit out if you really wanted to just to buy the skip.
