Playing Mars Matrix without credits, and I can't even pass stage 2. Getting pretty good at stage 1 though.

Just watched the top leader on the Raiden IV boards, and it made me want to play this game again in the fashion that he does. Makes the game look more like Raystorm with all those missles. Also blew my mind that he is using the DLC Raiden ship, as when I tried it I thought it was completely and in all ways worse than the mkII

Also still working my way through Mushi Futari.... and still on stage 3 (althought I did make it to stage 5 in the arrange mode, but it just felt wrong playing in that way)

In other news, I'm doing the same thing, knowing full well that I will not survive stage 5 if I even reach it [if your weapons aren't all level 12 or so by then, everything takes forever to kill, and therefore, you die].
PS: got up to Gallop, I still suck at it.

Until today the only doujins I had played were Touhou, and I wasn't a big fan. Discovered the awesomeness of Blue Wish Ressurection and Crimson Clover (demo only for now sadly). These games are rockin, and once I get my arcade stick to work for it I must go for 1cc Blue Wish (on normal, of course)

I just got a battery for my Saturn, so I am going to be playing Radiant Silvergun's Saturn mode tonight. Couldn't save my weapon levels before so I just stuck to arcade mode. I suck at chaining so bad.

Yesterday was a lot of Fast Strikers and a little Last Hope and Dux as well.

2 runs of Ketsui, one purely trying to survive [3mil pts], and one where I at least attempted to do some scoring [15mil pts]. Got to the same part in both [!], I hate the second boss.

Oh, and DonPachi. Really weird playing this after playing DDP, DOJ, Ketsui, EspGaluda, etc.
Totally breaks my flow.

I've finally stopped hopping from game to game, and am now focusing on *basically* one game per platform.

Here goes:

Xbox360 - Raiden Fighters
PS2 - Espgaluda (going for the 1cc - my first *fingers crossed*)
PCB - Dangun Feveron (JEEZIZ! That game is FAST)
PC - Crimzon Clover (fuckin' shit this game is nice...I get a distinct DFK vibe, anybody else?)

Oh, and I just got a Super Spy MVS cart, so that's replaced Baseball Stars 2 in my yoko cabinet....

(If anyone has any scoring tips for Crimzon Clover, feel free to hit me up - my high is a weakass 19*0000*0000ish. Also any tips for finally hitting the 1cc on 'galuda , I'm all ears. I can get to stage 4 boss, no problems - then it falls apart...)

I have been wanting to play TFV for a while now, but can't even come close to spending as much as a saturn version goes for.
Would you say its still pretty good on the ps1, for a third the price?

Oh boy you just made such a big mistake by mentioning this Did you buy it during Comiket or Messe-Sanoh started shipping? Either way, I think the high score thread for the trial had some tips. A key part of the scoring is getting max lock-ons and waiting to trigger the double break and locking on bigger enemies with a full payload of missiles/lasers. Over the top guaranteed.

Taking a break from playing Ketsui to play Caves "easiest shmup" Espgaluda. I'm playing it to warm up to my Hori EX-SE. Once I 1CC the game, I'll know I'm ready to go back to Ketsui using a stick.

Well, for a third of the Saturn price, i can safely say, go with PS1 version. While Saturn version is obviously better of the two, differences between them really minimal.

Finally had a breakthrough run at Espgaluda II BL. Haven't been able to get past stage 3 until tonight, but on my last run I made it all the way to the stage 5 boss somehow! Almost made it to 400mil, I think it was 392 something. Guess I need to start practicing the later stages in case this happens again.

Been having wicked insomnia lately so the only game I'm not tired enough to play well is Black Heart. Game is so easy I'm not sure how it got an arcade release.
