STV Titan mobo problems.

Post by 2600 »

I have had my STV Titan mobo since June and recently have had my game start freezing. Is this a common problem for the STV? I have heard rumors that the STV mobo is finicky and has been known to crap out or cause problems. The game I have been playing is Radiant Silvergun. The freezing issue has just started the other day. Sometimes if I use a can of air and blow out the connectors, the game will work once while the cab is on. If I turn off the cab, go back a day later and turn the cab on, the game will freeze again. The game also tends to freeze at random spots and times. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Could this simply be a cleaning of the contacts? My fear is that the Radiant Silvergun cart is acting up. I can live with buying another mobo, but another Radiant cart...

I was also curious if STV Carts are known to have issues or crap out. Thanks for any help!

i would definitely clean the contacts on the cart and the mobo. Simply use isopropyl alcohol (90%) and some cotton swabs. I wont hurt anything and will at least eliminate that as a possibility if it is not the problem.

(clean the contacts on the cart)-- stvs pause when the voltage is to low. If it's the cart or connectors, then wiggled will make it happen. If not, you've got to find a way to turn the voltage up a little.
