There is only 1 guy behind Yotsubane right? Or is there a number of devs which would explain all the different profiles been used.
There's a mylist link in the description of there, which I can't access. Pretty sure the uploaders between these videos are different.

Rancor (he's posted on this thread) owns a shmup store. You can preorder it by clicking the link. It comes out on New Years' Eve, but Rancor won't have it until January 3 or thereabouts. Go ahead and preorder while there's still time (I recommend PayPal).

What's the easiest way for someone in America (who does not read Japanese) to buy this game? Sorry if this has already been answered.

Unless that DLsite.com(English) stocks it allowing you to just DL it (see that newbie thread where i mention it and posted a porn free shmup search link) You will have to import it just like any other Japanese game from sites like rancor's site or messe-sanoh, euro otaku and pallet web

*note for Observer that dlsite.com has Near Space Fantasy that fantasy zone clone I remember you raving about a while back*

King Crimzon (Clover) comes to take the fucking throne, huh?

Also, yes, ordering from rancor will be one of the easiest ways. And what the others mentioned.

I'm assuming the game will have an instant patch as soon as someone counter-stops it considering the Gigawing-worth scores it appears you might be able to get.

Messe Sanoh is the only real store I've seen selling the game, and I don't think they accept international customers. I'm sure other stores will pick it up as time goes by, but until then, your best bet is finding someone in Japan to get it for you (e.g., rancor).

Lol speaking of the devil. You decided to visit here and post just as I was editing my post, You must be psychic :)

As for places stocking the game, I would expect most other places to start stocking it over the next day or 2 (i hope)

Heh. They say great minds think alike. And yes, that's the Fantasy Zone clone. It appears to be plagued with other shooters references, like the Gradius Moais and stuff. The only other game taking a similar approach is Diadra Empty, but that's another beast entirely... one hell of a beast, and worth of a completely different thread. Let's focus on King Crimzon Motherfucking Clover.

If anyone spots a run at Nicovideo, please say the word because I'm sure some crazy weirdo japanese prototype will already 1cc it by the time I go to sleep. And I'm curious about the later two stages.

Just a heads up, watch Livetube.cc for anything as well. I had a guy there last night I was watching who was beasting Unlimited Mode and said he may run his stream again today for the full game.

Thank you, I'll keep an eye on that then.

By the way, Yotsubane posted a picture of the box. DVD-size case. Hopefully, it won't break like it usually happens with the CD cases... (No matter how hard the box, how much bubblewrap or anti-gravity/anti-matter, at least one case tends to arrived cracked, argh)

HYPER MODE ENGAGE.

God this wait is killing me. I've bought my copy from rancor as well, but #Comiket all the way until the disc arrives, it shall then be displayed and boxed for safe-keeping.

Yes, yes - you can order from me. 8)
I've had over 40 pre-orders so far coming from here, Neo-geo.com, doujinstyle, triggerzone, NTSC-FR, racketboy, and a few other sites I had never heard of until recently. So it looks like today is dedicated to rounding up more packaging, printing order forms, and making sure that everyone gets exactly what they ordered. This is by far the biggest undertaking I've had to deal with yet regarding my site.

HOWEVER, I've enlisted the help of someone (the wife) to check and double-check my work so everything should go smoothly. Hopefully her naturally-bred Japanese precision will ensure error free packaging / shipping. Seriously, the office looks like a factory assembly line with addressed envelopes and packaging lists laid out. If you have any questions you can PM me and I'll get back ASAP as I'm still on vacation until January 7th and have lots of time to kill. Thanks to everyone who has ordered so far and it's still not too late to get your order in! (see the sig for details).

My friend Junnichi said it was sold out by the time he got there, he was in the line for about an hour.
Mind you this is Comiket, I doubt he brought much there.

Shit like that is why I don't even bother with these festivals anymore.. Same thing happened to me at the last CAVE matsuri.. :?
There are so many things that Japan does well, but unless it's a 1000 year tradition like the NYE carnival I'm going to tonight - event planning is just not one of them.

Selling physical media from a booth seems like a ridiculously outmoded way of doing business anyway. The indie devs in North America and Europe have taken to digital distribution in a big way and it seems to be paying off for them.

This. I always find it a bit ironic considering the japanese are so damn glued to their cellphones, iphones and all that sci-fi tech stuff and shit we can only dream about over here! They still have a heavy preference for physical copies, Limited Editions and such.

There are online services, like Melonbooks or DLsite, but I've heard the Melonbooks submission guidelines are very, very strict (for example, if you have a visual novel and it's not porn, you can't sell it because "it's not interesting", this is the problem we are facing with the circle I'm helping in) so it takes time to get something in their digital goods store.

And maybe they have this thing, also akin to writers, of having something published on your hands. The smell of ink and all that stuff. There are also pretty efficient printing services (POPLs, which is the one used by ZUN, Moedvd, etc.) with offers, price packages and stuff that makes things even easier.

Plus if you guys spend 80usd+ on a CAVE game (with all the shipping, waiting and such), I don't see how painful is to spend $25 on a doujin one. Especially when it's something as awesome as this thing.

Anyway, getting a bit off topic!

Lurking Nicovideo for that 1cc in Unlimited Mode. I mean, it's bound to happen within the next hours.

Its always striked me as odd aswell, in how a nation so mad for hi tech gadgets can be backward when it come to the PC especially online distribution of games and manga. And considering the sheer volume of Japanese porn and how easy that is to get hold of, I guess its just a culture thing, Consoles for gaming and PCs for porn :?

Maybe some might say that its just another facet of the Japanese game industry and its failure to export and keep up to current world wide trends.

Wait what? C'mon guys.. are you already over the whole /physical form/ deal?
I fucking love collecting physical copies of stuff, and limited edition copies of said stuff is even better.
The Japanese make all of their profits from limited editions and boxed goods. If they went totally digital now it would fuck their economy.
It's why the pricing of music there is so high.
