I'm having fun with my new capture device. I just put this video up. I promised the forum here about five years ago that I'd do a translation of the funny dialogue between Koyori and Marion for the Saturn version of Sengoku Blade, and the best way to present it would be as a video. At long last, here it is. Enjoy.

When I first moved to Himeji in the summer of 2000, this media store chain called Something was liquidating all their Saturn games for 1000 yen each. I snagged a bunch of these, like Guardian Force, Batsugun, and others. I saw Sengoku Blade and saw that it was a Psikyo game, but the big titties turned me off and I wasn't sure what the true purpose of the game was. ("Is this a shmup? Why's it in a double CD case?") I was a shmups forum member at the time, but I didn't get around to researching the game. So, I lost the chance to get the game brand new for only 1000 yen. Years later I played it at Jon's place, then I ended up spending a lot of money for a used copy in Akihabara. Then once it was ported to the PS2, the price dropped.

But anyhow, the big titties was a big turn-off for me, even though it had a green "all ages" label on the front. It soon disappeared off the shelves anyway.

Don't get me wrong, Koyori has some nice tits. I just prefer small/flat ones. Because Koyori's are so big, I wasn't sure if it was some sort of hentai game, especially with the double CD case. It was in the "shooting" section, but I couldn't tell if it was a shmup or not. That's why I passed.

Right. If the titties were the focal and not the gameplay, then it may not be a good game (an exception would be the Dead or Alive games). That's why I shied away from Sengoku Blade when I first saw it for only a thousand yen brand new, and I still rue the day.

Yeah, that's what I meant to say. DOA is one of the few 3D fighting games I like (the other being Soul Calibur, although I haven't played anything past 2). Actually, I didn't like the volleyball games that much, and the second one went a bit overboard on the "this isn't how real girls act, so quit fapping and grow up" part. I played the first game, and once I got Lei Fang, Kasumi, and Hitomi to wear that skirt outfit and glasses, I lost interest. Especially with the whole cryptic relationship thing. I don't play games to make friends, I just wanted to play volleyball. Anyhow, now we're really off-topic now.
