X360 Saturn-like Pads?
X360 Saturn-like Pads?
I got the Hori EX-SE and honestly, I just can't use it. I don't know what it is but I feel so much more in control with my Sega Saturn pad on my PC. Only problem is, seems hard to convert them. However, I was wondering if anyone found the below any good.

It's made for fighting games, but it can probably work for shmups as well. Is it worth a purchase or should I just go for all those converters for the real deal?
Also, if someone can convince me a stick is better than a pad, then maybe I'll give it another chance. I just feel so...flimsy and clumsy.

You can always buy a Saturn>PS converter and a PS>360 converter if you want to use an official Saturn pad on 360.
If this is your first time using a stick I'd recommend you give it more time. There's a definite learning curve and if you've been using a pad your whole life it'll take a while to adjust.

Yeah, I'd definitely put some more time into the stick. If you've never played on one, it will definitely take time to get used to. I was clumsy as hell with a stick when I first got one for fighters a few years back, but now there's no way I could ever go back to a pad for fighters or shmups.
However, if in the end, you do decide to go back to a pad, the Fightpads definitely aren't bad. I bought one to use with emulators on my PC, and it works great. Not quite the same feel as a Saturn pad, but it works well.

If you still feel the same way after spending some time with it, shoot me a PM. I'd be interested in taking it off your handsratikal wrote:I got the Hori EX-SE and honestly, I just can't use it.

Wouldn't that cause a ton of input lag though? I vaguely remember reading some where that it would.dannnnn wrote:You can always buy a Saturn>PS converter and a PS>360 converter if you want to use an official Saturn pad on 360.

I don't notice any with mine. I also don't like portable sticks, and will use a gamepad over them. I love them in a cab though.

That price is insane. Especially for a pad, that over time is going to wear out.ratikal wrote:Wouldn't that cause a ton of input lag though? Guess I'll try it out. I think it might be gamewise too. I cannot play Ketsui with a stick while playing DFK with a stick feels fine. Who knows though.antron wrote:ratikal wrote:Wouldn't that cause a ton of input lag though? Is there any DIY versions as well? Just incase I can't find the correct converters.

The Saturn USB pads are still pretty good - and still should be compatible, can't see why not.
Lol @ $250 Saturn pad for the dead PS2 controller connector.

Re: X360 Saturn-like Pads?
you mean a PS3 compatible Saturn USB? no, I don't think they are. the PS3 controller must be a fully compatible one with a PS button to work with my 360 adapter.Ed Oscuro wrote:The Saturn USB pads are still pretty good - and still should be compatible, can't see why not.

Re: X360 Saturn-like Pads?
I'm very hesitant to plugging in my USB Saturn Pad (bootleg, I think) into my X360. Mainly because my brother had to ship his out after he pressed some werid button on a USB keyboard, causing the whole thing to get some 500 error.
Re: X360 Saturn-like Pads?
The price is waaay high, but the PS2 connector so ubiquitous we'll almost certainly see adapters for years.Ed Oscuro wrote:Lol @ $250 Saturn pad for the dead PS2 controller connector.
