Play Asia payment problems ~ any experience with this?

Hi everyone,

Some weeks ago I made my pre-order for Fast Striker from Play Asia.
My payment was to be made with the credit card which Play Asia already had on file.
This morning I received an email that the card was rejected.

After checking the original order for anything unusual I called the bank. The bank informed me that the retailer (Play Asia) submitted the card without the 3-digit security code from the back of the card.

I then returned to the PlayAsia site to make payment through PayPal.
PayPal payment deducted my funds immediately and sent a transaction confirmation email.
However the payment is not reflected on the Play Asia web page.
If fact, PlayAsia still has the order listed as "Card Rejected" and asks me to "Change Payment"
I emailed PlayAsia asking for clarification. (now I understand it was in the middle of the night in Hong Kong)

Now this evening Play Asia has again tried to submit my credit card and sent me another email stating "card rejected"
The order summary still asks to "change payment" and shows no evidence that I have made payment via PayPal.

Has anyone else had issues such as this, or with PayPal payment not being recognized by PlayAsia's website?

I've always had to use PayPal with them, as I can't use my normal credit cards there for some reason. I've never had a problem with PayPal though... not sure what to say? Their support has been good the couple times I've needed it, so hopefully they'll get back to you.

Thanks for the reassurance.
I have also had to use Paypal in the past because PlayAsia wouldn't accept my credit cards (Visa). The strange thing is that I used this very card (and I just double checked this) for three previous orders this past year.

Anyhow, it looks like I'm OK with my order.
Still no email update or response from them, but I just looked at "my account" page and there's been an update though it wasn't easy to stumble upon.
Under the "My Orders" list the most recent status is listed as "Credit Card Rejected"
Upon clicking into the order, the status still says "C.C. Rejected," but it no longer says "Change Payment" under the action column.
Then I noticed a message elsewhere on the page which said "New: See monetary transactions regarding your order here." Click the link and it takes me to the balance which now shows $0.00, another link then takes me to the invoice which actually confirms the PayPal transaction.

It could all certainly be a little more straight forward. I don't recall the account page being exactly as it is presently (last order I made was in July), maybe they've just made some upgrades to the site and things aren't all properly worked out.

I was mainly worried about this order because I have a few other items on the invoice and 2 of them were on sale and the last copies in stock ...didn't want to deal with getting them to honor the sale prices or availability if my original order was canceled.

I've had the whole CC rejected, and I emailed the customer service with a different card and everything went smooth.

Their customer support has indeed been great whenever something went wrong.
Sent them a question/request as detailed as possible and they'll help you fine.

If out of stock happens they can't help but I am pretty sure they'll not charge extra on purchases done (on sale) because of some procedural fault.

in short: don't worry. ;)

The 3 or 4 times I contacted their customer support in the past everything worked out.
The troublesome thing this time is that their billing system automatically tries to resubmit the credit card for clearance.
I had since made full payment with Paypal, yet their billing system later that day again tried to charge my credit card. Surely they would have initiated a refund if I'd been charged twice, but that might have caused other problems like an overdrawn bank account. Really seems like needless worry and confusion for the customer to not see the correct billing status on the account summary.
