I've always had a 20 inch CRT that I play games on. However it renders the text UNREADABLE on Radiligy when played through the Ultimate Shooting Collection.
SO I got some new component cables and hooked it up to my parents' lcd TV of comparable size. The text is now very readable but oddly enough on the ship with the "123" style laser I get some odd noise around the edges of the laser lines. This happens in both the Wii's 480i and 480p video output modes.
I see the problem being one of the following.
1. The upscailer on the lcd TV.
2. The upscailer in the game software ( I doubt the arcade port runs in 480i or 480p)
3. My component cables (They are the eBay special from wonton land. But were cost effective, they are substantially thick however)
4. Rasterization of cell shaded outlines.
P.S. Milestone games have proven enjoyable for me, even though they get lot of grief for not being perfect, the collection was still a great deal.

Question about Ultimate Shooting Collection for Wii
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.

Re: Question about Ultimate Shooting Collection for Wii
is it just the edges of the laser lines or is there a hashing or noise on any other game ?
I know I bought some cheap component cables for wii and I get noise all over the screen which shows up worse on certain colours or when the colours are dark, when i looked into it people said the answer would be make sure you use official nintendo cable.

Re: Question about Ultimate Shooting Collection for Wii
I've got both official Nintendo Wii & Monster Game Wii Component Video cable sets...am currently using the Monster Game branded one & it works just fine on an LCD based TV monitor setup without said problems that you currently describe, Pixel_Outlaw. It could be the LCD TV set that you're using with that strange issue appearing.
Target does sell the Monster Game branded Wii Component Video cable set for a reasonable price compared to ponying up a bit more for the official Nintendo branded Wii Component Video cable set. I do know that with such Monster Game/Monster Cable products, you'll be getting a really thick RF shielded A/V cable indeed -- the real question is, will they be durable enough to survive a nuclear blast or a electromagnetical particle (aka "dirty bomb") blast?

Re: Question about Ultimate Shooting Collection for Wii
The Wii only does 240p, 480i and 480p. The original games ran on NAOMI at either 480i or 480p. The Wii isn't upscaling anything.Pixel_Outlaw wrote: 2. The upscailer in the game software ( I doubt the arcade port runs in 480i or 480p)
Chances are that it's your component cables.
Re: Question about Ultimate Shooting Collection for Wii
The game display might be downscaling if you haven't rotated your screen and switched to the vertical screen mode. Which way have you been playing? Try the other one.
I've been giving this collection a lot of love lately too =)
