retiring as a mod

Post by Herr Schatten »

I'll keep it short. Due to time constraints in general, and an inability to access the forum during the daytime in particular I've asked for my mod powers to be revoked. My term ends at the end of this year, then it's back to being a regular member. Luckily, Spadgy has already accepted to fill the vacant position in the mod team, and he'll do an awesome job, I'm sure.

Many thanks to the other mods. It was an honour doing service with you.

Guess this is my last chance to tell Spadgy to go fuck himself then.

Yeah, now it'll be, "Spadgy go fuck yourself, sir!"

Lol

Thanks for all the good modding over the years Herr Schatten, hope to see you round Casino again some time in the future.
Spadgy is a fine successor and a genuinely lovely human being and I'm sure his skills in diplomacy will do you proud.

I haven't been here very long but this makes me sad for a couple of reasons:
1) You have an awesome Moomintroll avatar
2) I noticed you have Correct Opinions on a Variety of Subjects
But these things will not change, so that makes me happy.
Also, fwiw, I see you around more than spadgy. So that's weird! Maybe that's just the boards I tend to post on.

I think this says it perfectly. It feels good to retire from something anyway. Thanks, and don't be a stranger!

Thanks Herr Schatten for your service, just post once in a while so we don't miss you. You're one of the better pixelartists around here.

I picture you banning anyone in the dev section showcasing their rather questionable design-decisions. There's worse things happening in this world.

Yeah - thanks so much to our Moomin overseer. Your service has been to the benefit of us all. We'll still see you about though, I'm sure!

And thanks to the other mods for welcoming me into the realm of the green-named bretheren! It's instantly boosted my energy, vitality and the volume of my hair.

Fair to say. Perhaps in the last year I spent most of my time in Hi-scores, Shmupmeets and Trading Station, but rest assured that I take my new role very seriously, and I'll be making sure my eyes are all over this forum (though that might mean you see me post a little less).

I mean... with your moomins avatar, you're just loveable! *hugs*

I've got a badly done Moomin's tattoo if that helps soothe the process of me stepping into Herr Schatten's shoes and dancing the dance of a mod.

It can't become my avatar though, as I stick to photographs of my squirrel brethren. Of course, I can try getting a picture of a squirrel in shot. We'll see. I do have mastery over the entire species.

That should be 'myself' dickwad, unless you're planning a homoerotic entry into a forum member.

You journalist types are picky fuckers! You're right though man (although what I was meaning to do was include single quote marks).
ZOM wrote: Pics or it didn't happen. Naked spadgy with Moomin tatoo NAO!
It did happen. Back ten years ago my flatmate was doing an apprenticeship in tattooing, and we had all the equipment at our house. I let him practice on me. It was one of his first goes on another person, so it's pretty bad, but it fits the style of the Moomin illustrations in the books and I love it. He's now a very accomplished tattooist.
