Bootleg CPS2 info?

Post by maxlords »

Ok, was just about to buy a CPS2 Puzzle Fighter B board from a guy and he let me know that it has a Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo sticker over the top of a Street Fighter Alpha sticker. Did Capcom do this? Or is this a bootleg? I've never heard of that before on CPS2 stuff and I know there are Progear boots out there (pretty sure I have one), but I can't imagine bootlegging Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo..... it's not valuable enough to warrant it. Thoughts? Info? I'll probably crosspost this at the Neo-Geo forums too.....

Thanks guys!

Capcom quite often re-used parts for CPS2 games. Quite often theres a vampire hunter label under a legit other label. (You can see straight through my friends SFZ3 and see it underneath).

They also used blue cases on JP games when they ran out of green (JP dimahoo), and re-used CPS3 SIMMS in progear, took out the coin counter eventually to reduce costs - and so on.

Yep, I have (or had) a CPS2 with a Vampire Hunter sticker underneath and found out it's fairly common.

Sweet! Thanks for the prompt responses guys! Just wanted to make sure! I would have bought it as a boot anyway, but not for as much ;) Getting a pretty good deal anyway though :D
