Where's the beef?

There still is a boycott going on, isn't there? Any other likely fallout (other than what you mentioned, GP)? I would find it hard to believe the publishers / artists who said "my back catalogue isn't going to be reprinted" were doing it just to rage people.

Seems like this bill, when it goes into effect in July 2011, will only proliferate the content they're attempting to regulate.

And there's no doubt that this Ishihara character is a piece of shit. Doesn't surprise me that someone like him spearheaded such a vaguely worded bill. But while I figured he was a hypocrite, I didn't think he would be a hypocrite to that extent.

Yeah, this isn't something I expect anyone highly involved in any of the listed industries (anime, manga, video games) to take lightly, considering the scope of the bill. Say what you want about the content of their work, but they are passionate about what they do, so I seriously doubt that anyone stating that they would boycott is just fronting.
