CAD class 3D models

Post by raigon50 »

I have Drafting and Design class at school, and we use a computer program that can make 3D models. I made a Raiden-ish ship last year, but all the files from previous years have been deleted. This year (so far) I've made a Giant, awesome robot and these:

Every year, our teacher does a contest for whoever has the coolest model, and have the 3D model made into a real-life model. I'm so gona win. Mwahahaha!

Mod Edit: Too-large image.

Wow, that's so cool! I wish I knew how to use a "proper" CAD app.

That is really cool man!
I'd use the "chamfer" command on some of those fins to make them sharp on the edges.
I have AutoCAD 2004 myself...

No, this game is not Space Invaders.

Revival of an old topic! (Oh my, yes!)
I recently decided to make a M.U.S.H.A.-esque model.

Looks like you put a lot of time into that one.

Very cool. Are you going to play with light sources and materials any?

My class hasn't gotten to working with light sources yet, but I have thought about materials. I'll have to find the right ones though.

I got another model done.

How about a Big Core from Gradius. (This time 3Dmax.)

I like the geometry, but materials could really use some improvement. Put on some fractal noise and ambient occlusion, that always helps.
