That was amazing.

Played a little bit more tonight. Messed around with the course creator, which is really a random course generator with a few options to tweak. Also discovered that the murcielago's phyics are way off. It feels like driving the lm spec ford gt in prologue. Tons of lift off oversteer and it doesn't behave like a awd car at all.

Also race modded my 1997 civic type r into a little touring car. It's too bad that there are only 15 cars which you can do this to. My fanatec wheel is taking a crap on me too.

For trophy hunters, a tip I picked up on Jalopnik: you can get the Penniless trophy really easily from a clean save by buying a 15,000cr Daihatsu, then a 5000cr Go-Kart (both new). I ended up deleting my save to do it, since GT5 doesn't allow save copying and I hadn't done much besides barely scraping past the B license tests anyway... then I deleted my save again afterward since I really didn't want to be stuck with the Daihatsu.

Dear Polyphony,

Please remove or overhaul B-Spec mode, fix the pop up, learn how to program AI to make races exciting, implement the drag racing that was promised oh so long ago in GT2, and please not make every dang race some sort of event race with restrictions. Otherwise, superb game.

Wy would they, when people are still buying their games despite this having been the single biggest problem with the series since the first?

Thing is, most people buying the game don't really care about it - they don't even know that the AI is crap: you got the cars, you got the tracks, you got the clock. Out of the 2+ million people who bought the game, its just a small number that actually notices how fake(on rails) the AI is.

And, to be honest, I don't care all too much either since the rest of the game delivers and I pretty much expected it. Although in some races I got fairly pissed on the whole "on rails" thing - they can fuck up your race badly just by sticking to their route, no matter how you drive.

Voted with my wallet. Probably will never buy a GT game again.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

This is why I haven't like the series since being amazed by the 1st one. Goes like this : Grind slow car races -> get faster car -> win rest of races with 0 challenge. I'd rather have one car with great AI/racing then 1000 and AI that mimic moving chicanes.

I've pretty much given up on gt mode already and dedicated most of my time today online. It's a lot funner running hot laps around a track with serious drivers than dodge dumb ai cars, assuming you weeded out the undesirables.

B-spec is a joke until they fix the ai(which will probably never happen.)

So Polyphonic thought it would be cool to use textures based off some toy car with a 1/18 imprint (because real cars actually have this), right down to the identical scaling and, get this: phillips head screws.

Easter egg, none of the other cars feature this.

Ugly textures.

Update v1.03 was released a couple of hours ago. It implements mechanical damage in online races, but I'm not sure if it's available in gt mode or arcade.

lI don't believe it. Why would a low quality, poorly textured underside be an easter egg?

Flip any other R34 skyline and see what you find (other than ugly textures and one sided tires).

Yamauchi said it was a mistake and that it was going to be removed in a patch. So I guess that means it wasn't an easter egg after all.

Has anyone created the GT5 equivalent of the old GT4 video with a pickup just ramming everything on the track off the road yet? That was a favorite of mine and I can't seem to find the original...

Haven't seen that, but here's a clip showing the masterfully done and realistic physics that can be found in GT5:

Glitches or not, it's still a really fun game. I'm trying to gold all the license tests between ESPRaDe runs this week. I have 26/60 so far. Seems a bit easier than GT4 was.

I need to play less stressful games...

Hey guys, is anyone here playing the game? Add me so we can do some online racing sometime. I'm also hosting remote races from time to time, so if you want to boost your B-Spec level, share your drivers so I can use them. You earn exp and cash in the process.

I wish I have my PS3, though I wouldn't spend much time playing due to college. From what I've seen from gameplay footage for spec 2.0, I was hoping a complete rendering of the inside for standard cars. Some of the standard do have render interior, unfortunately the rest have dark silhouettes. And DLC packs pricing? Hefty price IMO.

Biggest double thumbs up overall: Official Support for the G25/G27 Racing Wheels. 8)

Cool to hear that the PD dev team decided to add Logitech G25 & G27 wheel support for better shifting/realism.

What's a fair price for a G25 or G27 setup these days in mint condition?
