I got it and i am enjoying it. Better then first one. One question i have is why no online p2p leaderboards?. Fireball has them. You never updated your first DX game with online leaderboards. I rated both games 5/5.

Our scoreboard system became a huge project in of itself, and with the promise (I mean rumor) of leaderboards coming to XBLIG, we actually scrapped months of work on it.

Other games have scoreboards but cause frame skips during gameplay, which is very hard to remove. We "did it right", and then decided to do even better with challenges (achievements).

It was going to be called ScoreShare, and we were going to popularize it all over Xbox LIVE Indie Games by having other developers use it too.

It would have 1UP'd achievements because we were going to share those across too. Imagine seeing not just your friends scores but all their game compleition status too.

http://xona.com/scoreshare/

It was a cool project, that we miscalculated on.

Long story short, it wasn't within us to release poor score sharing.

Apparently you can get Decimation X3 on Xbox 360 Dashboard by doing this:
- Games Marketplace
- Indie Games
- Titles A-Z
- ALL ("D" will not work)
- Newest

Thanks for the 5/5, that's huge for us. More than you know.

Just got the game. I downloaded it from the link you posted on twitter: http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Produ ... 0258550717

I played the first one a lot and even made my new gamer tag "pure decimation" after the game. While I haven't come across any huge gameplay changes it is still a huge improvement over the first. I like the new graphics so far. I'm a little disappointed that there are not any new powerups aside from the S2 powerup (maybe S3?) covering the entire length of the screen, leaving no space. The furthest I have gotten is level 65 so maybe there are some new ones later on. I think the boss battles are a nice addition. I also like that the action seems a little faster than the first. I also like that you kept the slow slide back on screen when you die. It's so frustrating, but funny, that after you die you get to watch your ship slowly creep back into action.

If you already have the first and still enjoy it then buy this. It's worth it for the graphical update. If you haven't played the first then start with this.

Thanks! That slide is FAST compared to the old one! And you should check out the CHALLENGE mode. You may or may not getting a better score in it. It's close enough that they share the same boards. The game play is much different, once you get good, aside from the left-right-shoot limitation of course. And be sure to check out the bumpers/triggers for slowdown. You can now bullet dodge. It's huge if you master it.

ScoreShare sounds cool. Thank you for the reply.

Do you have XBLIG Vampire Rage?. If not i recommend it. His leaderboard only updates when you are in the game menu. So no lag or hang during game play.

I thought there was something going on with a slowdown button from the trailer. I didn't realize that it was the left bumper though. There is no button configuration/map menu. Going back to try it now!

The slowdown button is definitely awesome. Now I am no longer helpless at the later levels when there are lots of bullets and no sheilds. This definitely makes it stand out more from the first one.

It helps big time. Too bad the game was too simplistic to have a load screen (or menu) to show off that oh-so-special secret control!

I found the bosses are what do you in at the end. Is this the same for you? We tried to not have them be too long (as they are not exactly bullet pattern styled attacks that warrent prolonged fights).

The Xona games are available in JPN region as well right? I'm not sure I want to wait for my NA region 360 to get fixed.

They are available in Japan, yes. In fact, Decimation X held the #1 spot for a long time in Japan. Decimation X3 now holds the #1 spot. And with the release of Score Rush, I am guessing it will take over the #1 spot in a few days once enough download and rating information is available.

Please remember to rate our games. Ratings are crucial to our success.
Thanks everyone! :) Enjoy!!

Just picked up Score Rush (which I'm playing with d-pad to move, right stick to shoot, seems to work but have to charge my black 360 controller with superior d-pad to start playing decently). Will pick this up as well. That comes to 3 dollars I've given to Xona  seriously though, the way Arkedo explained their XBLIG experience, it does open doors to interesting future possiblities. Anyway, good games you have done so far, guys.

We hope to follow in the footsteps of Arkedo. Perhaps our XBLA contract with Duailty ZF will go through and that will be our launch pad to the bigger and better.

I really wish the Xbox 360 controlles had better d-pads. A few madcatz controllers I have have excellent d-pads.
