Yeah, I would get rid of your AVG asap. It's a good program as far as getting rid of virus' and blocking nasties, but it's actually got a decent history for sketchy software. Most of the stuff it can do (that you don't want) isn't anything too horrible, but it can definitely suck up a lot of hours you shouldn't have to deal with, and just be a nuisance in general.

If you have a legit Windows key (or at least one that reads as legit to MS), I would highly recommend Microsoft Security Essentials: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

It's what I ditched AVG for when it came out. It works great, isn't invasive, and is easy to remove if need be.

To keep this marginally on topic, I was at a brewers meeting and found a super cheap way to move beer from keg to bottles without losing carbonation, which means I can start sharing some of my hoarde!

Fell asleep at like 7:30 pm. Woke up at 10 something. Started drinking. I have been on the computer for too long. Watching endless Youtube videos and playing visual novels. My USB port on my computer needs some work. Sometimes when I plug in a USB device (arcade stick, ipod, flash drive), it sends a shock into my computer (I have seen it a few times) and turns it off immediately. Need to get that fixed. Doesn't sound like a good thing. Need to sleep.

On my third homebrew. Thank god the week's over. My new propane burner showed up (ordered one of those damned expensive blickmann burners as my original burner couldn't get my wort up to boil fast enough (you need a helluva big burner to do 10 gallon batches folks)), and sat out on the porch drinking beer, assembling the fucker. I'll be brewing a new batch on new years eve, can't wait!

I'm kegging my clone of sam smith's oatmeal stout today, and bottling some of my other beer (mostly coz I need to clear out some keg space for the sam smith.) Guarentee it will be a nice, big afternoon of imbibing.'

Edit: I rarely get drunk anymore. Once work is done (or the pm rolls around on a weekday), I have a beer in hand. Period. I don't gulp these guys down, but I just keep a nice buzz going the rest of the day. So I suppose I can't honestly participate in this thread, but if we had the 'I'm buzzed' thread, I could post every day. Oh hell, I'm an honorary member here anyway.

I had a huge weekend and feel pretty dreadful now.

Got absolutely blind Thursday night. Had my work Christmas party on Friday night (I started there 3 weeks ago so I'm the new guy. Show up to the party with the shakes due to blood sugar death, breaking into a cold sweat in 28C heat.. people must've thought I was coming down of a heroin binge..). Slept Saturday night. Drank till 5 AM this morning with a bro.. I'm pretty well over it.

Just bottled my second batch, a nice brown porter...spent a long time in the boil, hopefully the brown sugar had gotten more caramelized. Original gravity was 1.053, and finished to a nice 1.013...

My other carboy has Ed Wort's apfelwein in it brewing...gonna be awesome...Who knew Tree Top apple juice, a couple of pounds of corn sugar (dextrose), and yeast could be so delicious (hopefully).

Changing it up tonight. Instead of McCormick whiskey and knock-off coke it is whiskey and Sierra Mist Cranberry. It's otay. Once I find a favorite thing I rarely change it up. Probably gonna go watch some Cutey Honey. Feeling like a 'get drunk' night because I am bored.
