Why not send them an email to inquire? NCSX at least replies pretty quickly and will have better information than we can hope to provide. (There are a couple STGs that went up on Xbox Live Arcade in recent months that you might not be aware of too)

I purchased Guwange on XBLA last weekend and am having fun with it. What other game/games are new on XBLA?

I spoke with NCSX on the phone at work today and the lady told me they will be able to restock it, but it will take more like a week or two rather than 4-7 days. I went ahead and ordered it. Although maybe it'll get a price cut soon like Futari did...oh well.

Its nice to know that its been restocked as I too will be sending an order through them or Play Asia on Monday in a bid to snap up a new copy rather then having to resort to ebay when I buy a PAL 360 just after Xmas

EDIT btw do you have triggerheart exelica? Ive heard a few ppl mention that theres a big chance of M$ taking the title off their xbla store (if it isnt already off), like they sometimes do to some old games.

Yeah, I have it but haven't played it extensively. Pretty fun game, though. I didn't realize they remove old games!

Well, now that the order's place, it's time to research Espgaluda 2's scoring system. Seems to be some good info on here, but I guess I won't really understand it 'til I'm actually playing.

From the videos I've watched, it looks like BL will be way easier than the original mode. Is this true? I don't remember seeing the bullets 'slide' off of you in other videos.

There was also KOF Sky Stage recently, though don't take that as a personal recommendation since I haven't picked it up yet (money is tight) and the consensus seems to be "it's pretty fun but not the greatest game ever" as far as I can tell. And while Microsoft has said they might remove old, low-quality games, they have yet to do so according to Wikipedia, so I wouldn't worry too much...

Espgaluda II hasn't sold as well as Futari and Deathsmiles (the two games that did get a Platinum re-release), so it's unlikely it will break the threshold for a re-release, though you never know! There's some pretty good information and videos on Espgaluda's II regular scoring, but not so much on Black Label and I don't think there's any good video of that one, scoring 2 billion or over, say, and making use of all the "modes".

Black Label is probably easier overall due to bullet cancelling and bullet slowdown (this is the "sliding" effect that uses the "shield" gauge in the lower right, which can also be used for outright invulnerability), though there is virtually no regular slowdown at all and the bombs are a lot weaker, and the final attack is pretty tricky. It's still easier to survive in overall, I believe, but the main attraction is really scoring.

That information is incredibly outdated, they briefly considered removing some games from XBLA but decided against it for various reasons. Triggerheart is safe.

Thanks to Baka Gaijen translation of espgaluda story, I know almost understand whats going on in Esp2. There are a few things Im still not understanding, so if anyone who knows can clue me in, I would be most appreciative.

Why did Asagi killed the king? Why is there a little Seseri in bl? What the hell is going on in the ending? Everything else I pretty much can piece things together.

I think I can answer this one. Black Label Seseri is her dream, and in her ending she wakes up in a hospital after the events that she dreamed about.

Thanks that actually makes more sense. But when was she dreaming? Is this during the end of Esp1 or 2? Would that mean shes still alive in the story?

This is slightly off topic, but I thought I'd clarify given the discussion.

At least one game has been taken off, Smash T.V., though I'm pretty sure that had something more to do with licensing agreements due to Midway dying a horrible, painful death.

when midway died they pulled Cyberball, Defender, Paperboy, Rootbeer Tapper, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Robotron, Joust, Gauntlet and Smash TV off xbox live arcade. also Speedball 2 and Double Dragon were removed when empire interactive went under.

Based on the way she looks, it was after ESPgaluda 2, so yes, she's alive and most likely will appear in ESPgaluda 3.

Who here has actually gotten the 10 million gem in arrange mode achievement? I mean the time it would take you to mass this much, you could have probably learned how to 1cc the game.

Finally got my shipping confirmation! Should be here on the 28th.

I got worried yesterday, because the website changed the status of the game from "Restock in 1 - 2 weeks" to "Out of stock - unavailable." I called and asked, though, and the lady said that the status is only for new orders, and that they were able to restock a copy for my order. So, apparently I got the last copy from NCSX. (sorry)

Congrats on the purchase! although I will say it's a good job Black Label is on the disc cos the original has very little slowdown and is rock hard (harder than ESPy 1).

Are you suggesting my post (about a game being out of stock, almost a year after release) should have been in the preorder thread? Or are you just really excited about the Pink Sweets/Muchi Muchi Pork port coming out soon?

Edit: (I am)

Curious whats everyone's high score in Esp II BL. I just started playing this game again recently(Tired of DFK chain dropping ugh) and on my 3rd run beat my old score.

My High score is currently 1.1 Bil. So much room for improvement... I can hit 2 Bil if I sit down a bit in training mode.

I am ranked 664 on BL and 649 on Arrange, which I must admit feels a bit like Daifukkatsu with all the bullet cancelling. My gamertag is KATBIZKITZ. Whats yours?

If you don't mind, I'll add both of you tomorrow when mine comes in (I'm Piazzola11). It's always nice to have some people to compete with, although it'll take me quite a while to even be able to 1cc BL, I'm sure.

This will probably make a lot more sense once I'm actually playing the game, but why does everyone fight the bosses in over mode? I've noticed this mainly in the BL videos I've watched; can't remember if people do that in the arcade version or not.

Do you do more damage in over mode?

A lot more damage. BL is really complex and you will have to study the videos quite meticulously. 360 mode is much more basic so you may want to try to toy with that first.

Isn't 360 mode a good bit more difficult, too, though? I plan on playing it anyway, of course.

Ah thats true. Forget what I said. Just stick with BL because thats the mode you'll be playing most once you figure out how it works. Its a lot more fun imo than 360 mode.
