LMAO! Sorry man...couldn't resist I always have felt that Mononoke was a great movie but WAY too preachy...

Well, in a way a lot of his films are equally preachy. Even stuff like Kiki's has a very strong (and hard to swallow) 'traditional=good, modern=bad' theme going on in it. Personally I just love Mononoke's story (big, sweeping epic shit), and given that the film doesn't take a side (the forest animals are by no means the 'good guys'), I didn't feel like it was talking down to me. Jesus, I was just having a discussion with someone who thought Avatar had an important message in it.
