I just had a quick go at translating the non-secret achievements for DFK 1.5, hopefully as people get their copies this week they can come here and achievement discussion won't clutter up the main thread in shmups chat (wishful thinking)

I have no idea about the game mechanics for the Arrange modes yet so there's some guesswork in there. Better descriptions and stuff coming after I get my copy of the game, secret achievements coming after people figure out what they are.

Mildly OT -- I was going though my achievements for Espgaluda 2 on the Xbox website (which Chrome thankfully translated) and came across this:

Thanks for the translations nzero for DFK1.5!

I've beaten the game several times on xbox360 mode and never got the achievement for beating the final boss. Also some of the midboss achieves didnt pop on the first playthrough but rather randomly. Maybe you have to kill them a certain way? The 3 secret achieves for beating the game on bomb, power, strong never unlocked. Also I never collected a bomb and didnt get that achieve. I 1cc the game on novice but never saw the true final boss but I assume you need to never get killed or something to get to that boss. Not sure how to do the alternate path in level 1.

Achievements in DFK are awful except for Arrange B. Worst shooter achievements since BLEX.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the TLB only appears at the end of the Ura loop, and I'm not sure of the loop requirements offhand but I'm thinking it might involve collecting lots of (all?) bees and not dying.

There's some stuff here about taking the alternate path in Area 1/Area 3 and getting the DP/DDP midbosses:

http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?t=28305

adverse, I know you've got some time into this already, do you have any insights to add? :)

Ok, I played novice mode and was able to get the 2nd loop by getting enough bees and not continuing. At the end of the 2nd loop I beat the last boss without using a continue and then another boss came up. This boss was for this achievement:
獄滅極戮至高兵器 (30)
Destroy the final boss Golden Disaster

These secret achieves I have yet to get:

BOMB (30)
Clear the game in Bomb Style

POWER (30)
Clear the game in Power Style

STRONG (30)
Clear the game in Strong Style

BOMBは遠慮します (50)
Clear the game without collecting a bomb item

Maybe you have to 1cc xbox360 mode which I havnt done yet.

According to the wiki, these all require a 2-ALL clear (either Standard or Ura 2nd loop, and you can use continues to finish the loop) and have to be done in XBox 360 mode. Will test as soon as I'm able.

Thanks for the tips on the Ura path on the first level. Upon using that path I got the 2nd level mid boss achievement.

Yeah apparently there's a misprint in the achievement description for Hibachi, according to the wiki it's actually for 360 mode only. Looks like the 360 Mode and Arrange A Hibachi achievements are going to be a bit of a bear.

Oh right, loop conditions!

Standard/Omote/Tsuujou 2nd loop: Collect over 35 bees OR die once or less OR use 2 bombs or less
Ura 2nd loop (TLB loop): Collect all 45 bees AND 1 death or less + 2 bombs or less

Raiden IV

総合ミッション「ソル破壊」 / Sol Destruction (30)
Uncover and destroy all of the radar towers (Sol) in stages 1-1 through 1-7 on XBox 360 mode, with difficulty set to Easy or higher. You don't have to do it in a single playthrough[/quote]

Looks like they picked something off Raiden DX!

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but: Which wiki do you mean and where do I find it (or is it in Japanese?)?

I would really like to have all the known and confirmed achievements (with conditions and fixed descriptions) in one list I can then print out.

Thanks for your work,

Thanks for reading :)

It's the Japanese achievement wiki cited at the bottom of the OP, found here:
http://www12.atwiki.jp/xbox360score/pages/1166.html

Also, try the achievement list in the OP, I try to keep it as up-to-date and accurate as possible

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but are there any achievements unlockable in 1.51, or am I stuck playing the inferior 1.5 for that?

There's none, cause I imagine it'd be a bit unfair for those who didn't get the first print edition and care about maxing out their achievements. You are stuck playing the "inferior" 1.5.

Right, DFK 1.51 is just like Futari 1.01, completely independent from the games' achievements.

Haha. "Maxing out achievements" and "DFK" don't belong in the same sentence :D Anyone who can 1CC the Ura loop in 1.5 as well as arrange A is a monster. Or whoever can get 10,000 chain on 1.5 as well. That's like 3-4 stages of unbroken chaining.

Doing any restarts, even the quick select button one, invalidates gaining any achievements as well as inputting high scores on the table, and probably replays too.

I think after what I heard about the upcoming patch for DFK, you can get the hibachi TLB achievement done in novice mode, so you can also do the ura loop in novice which shouldn't be difficult provided you know where the bees are. A 10k chain shouldn't be too hard either, in stage5 you can milk all the laser turrets in the beginning, and if you don't get it by then, all the popcorn after the 1st midboss should do, and this is all well before the laserwheels.

Mushifutari BL spiritual larsa, and Deathsmiles MBL bloody jitterbug still hold the title of games no one here will max out. Or even galudaII's 1cc arcade mode with all chars and fighting true seseri is a damn tough one.

They're going to fix the achievement for novice Hibachi? Well if thats the case this will be the first cave game I get 49/50 achievements lol. Both hibachi for 1.5 and arrange A will never happen for me. I just dont have the dexterity to reach the Ura loop.
Espgaluda III needs to happen.

A few people *have* apparently maxed it out on TrueAchievements, even Spiritual Larsa... so it's not completely impossible at least :)

This is true, but if you look at their profiles, they're pretty much all Japanese, so its probably the guys who have been playing these games in arcades for years before these home releases and might be some of the really high-profile players that do superplay videos and stuff. Even that may be impressive if you take into account a bunch of PCB elitists keep saying all of these CAVE ports on 360 have a lot of slowdown missing, making the ports technically a little harder than the arcade versions.

I have the Spiritual Larsa Achievement. Took me a total of 5 months worth of dedicated practice to pull it off. It's no dought challenging but not as hard as some people make it out to be.

I Currently have 59/60 achievements in Futari. Only missing the 1.5 TLB achievement. Ultra mode is a huge wall for me at the moment so I don't see myself getting that achievement any time soon.

I cleared Arcade mode in Radirgy Noa today and this was also the last achievement I was missing :)
Just wanted to say I think the achievements in this game are really well implemented. Other shmup devs could learn a lot from this. For Arcade mode the achievements are set like milestones you reach while playing, first you will practice a lot to get the 100,000 pts., then destroy the mid-boss, then get the 200,000 pts. and finally the 1CC. And all these achievements are really statisfying when you first get them but a skilled player could get all in one playthrough. And there wasn't a single achievement that required doing something silly or involved endless grinding.

Not sure if it has always been this way or not but the DFK BL achievements are listed in the 360 dashboard (or whatever it's called).
