Looking for a Console to Jamma Adapter

I have 2 candy cabs, 1 for tate, 1 for horizontal.

I want to preserve them as Jamma cabs. I don't want to muck around with major mods to run through various controllers etc for the consoles I want to use in my cabs.

I was thinking about a third cab, dedicated to consoles. Then, I have the problem of constant monitor rotation.

I saw this in the trade forum:


This could be the perfect solution for me. I want to do something similar so that I have 3 such boards for my Saturn, Dreamcast and J Xbox 360.

This allows me to treat these consoles just like I would a Jamma PCB, and not need a 3rd console dedicated cab.

Is there any off the shelf product I can use that will give me the Jamma male plug that will contain the video outputs? I suspect I can handle pad hacking and controller wiring myself.

Buying the above set up is probably not an option - I live in a 240 v world.

in a nutshell it's a SCART/RGB to jamma adapter.

the first (sold out) version did not have built in controller support.

the next version will, when it comes out.

but if you can handle pad hacking you can easily solder a scart cable to a jamma fingerboard.

saturn has the required c-sync signal, so does dreamcast, SNES and genesis/MD

PS1/2 do not, the signal must be stripped from c-vid with a circuit.

the linked product works with all SCART/RGB capable consoles.

some consoles cannot do SCART/RGB, like NES

Some consoles, like Xbox1, 360, and PS3 can do it but only in interlaced (flickery) mode.

My cabs are a blast and astro. Anybody know how essential a video amplifier is, in using the monitor in these cabs?

the issue is not an amp as much as it is a clamp circuit. come monitors simply cannot properly lock the signal. I think astros are OK. Ask someone who has tried a straight SCART/RGB hack.

Do Blast City monitors have a VGA port? You should be able to just plug our 360 at least directly in if so.

Anyways, viletim's adapter is right up your alley. What I did for my Astro was to buy one of those, and then I padhacked a couple PS1 Dual Shock controllers, and I simply use controller converters for any console I hook up to the cab.

That is the easy part just get a 240-110 Volt adapter.

A 300W stepdown transformer covers everything. I even run 2 cabs from 1 stepdown.

All the internal workings are 110v, some cabs even have 2 pin sockets in side them for powering gear. On my ATW cab I just plug the consoles into them.

I did a straight Scart/RGB hack (to make my own console>jamma adapter) and I can confirm that you don't need a video amp for a New Astro, at least not with a DC and a Saturn.
