I suppose I'm going out on a limb by assuming this release will weigh less than a pound. 99% of the people that order from me aren't from the US anyhow.
EPS21 wrote:amiami still have their DFK LE's available for cheaper than 107 USD just fyi. They usually bill 1350-1500yen for EMS shipping to the states (depends if this LE will be a single or have two game cases, like the ketsui LE).
I think it's a bit too soon to say that. I went to the site and attempted to purchase the game and they have this mysterious "handling" fee that they refuse to disclose until it's time to actually pay for the product (which I couldn't purchase yet). The shipping fees are equally cryptic and aren't being disclosed. Maybe tomorrow I can get a straight answer as to what the final price is. In addition to these points, they refuse to mark your purchase as "gift" and therefore you may be subjected to another VAT tax. Anyhow, I registered with the site and put in a pre-order for the game to be shipped to my parents house in Texas. If it ends up being cheaper than what I'm offering I'll lower my price and refund the difference to the people who have paid already.
The handling fee they probably just mean the shipping, there aren't any other prices besides price of game+shipping. Besides the EMS prices I mentioned above, one purchase (DeathsmilesIIX normal edition) I ordered with unregistered SAL which was 480yen for that. Yeah it does suck when you don't know what their shipping fees are like until after you order, but you get a feel for em soon and they're quite reasonable imo, I think they have a chart estimating shipping costs vs. weight as well. And unless something's changed recently I haven't had to a pay tax or customs fees (I'm in the US too).

Still not as bad ass as Black Heart showing up in stage 7 garegga for his revenge.
Surely it's not fanservice to later show up later in the same game?

They're dumb because they won't falsify information? How can you prove the value of the item if it goes missing? If the item is devalued and is lost, the value of the item is only determined by the written figure.

I'll go further.

They're a business who doesn't want to undermine the postal service which they depend on. Without being able to export goods, guess what happens? Amiami turns domestic once more, and suddenly nothing of theirs is available to outsiders. Marking invoice values down and claiming it's something it really isn't is great for the receiver, but it's highly unprofessional. Oh, it has the whole illegal thing going for it as well.

My total is the exact same as well, shipping by EMS to the states. Wonder if the 1350yen is standard fare everywhere outside Japan. Australia post is open on sunday? lucky bastards :P I hope mine comes in that soon.

Anyways this discussion should be had in the pre-order updates thread

http://www.renchi.com if you want to be illegal ... I was suprised when it seemed to be built into their check out system! [don't think they do preorders though]

... I don't know about the rest of the world, but I wouldn't actually advise it for the uk, its not even a 'grey area' as far as I understand it.

Although on a side note, to the uk, I actually find the best thing to do is just pay for ems ... never been taxed on a courier based ems, but have on normal speed deliveries ... not that I actually have too many non euro dealings... is it just me or is uk tax a bit of a crap shoot?

The answer to the crap shoot is yes, absolutely. And if amiami won't mark an item as gift to the UK, I don't buy from them. No skin off my back, plenty of other sources.

I've managed to avoid bullshit customs charges on imported videogames for 99.9% of everything I've ever bought. I do not agree with the UK system, the rate of tax, or the additional charges they put on top of the customs tax just to ship your item from the customs office back to you.

So yes, amiami can do one. Their reasons don't matter to me, legal or otherwise, I wouldn't shop from them to have an additional £30 placed on top of my order when someone sensible (Renchi.com for example) could easily avoid it.

Also: BL DLC awesome! That's really what I was looking forward to with this. :D

I upgraded to overnight shipping with NCS because I just found out I have Tuesday off, and I'd like to for sure have it by then. Should get it Saturday.

I'm not really concerned about the lack of Arcade mode as long as they got the slowdown and everything correct. It's nice having arcade mode, but I'd rather have an accurate 360 mode than an innacurate 360 mode and an accurate arcade mode.

I assume the BL DLC will probably be Japan only? Gonna have to buy some points and then figure out how the hell to use them. Didn't bother with the Deathsmiles MBL DLC, but I'm much more interested in this.

Getting DLC from the Japanese marketplace is fairly simple, albeit pricy. Just make a Japanese account (the process is covered in depth in the sticky in Hardware), apply a point card to it (NCS and Play-Asia both deliver codes digitally), and purchase, and you'll be able to use the content with any gamertag on the console you purchase it on.

Yeah - and it's a tiny detail, but I especially love how the tracknames for Garegga and Mahou boss BGMs pop up, just like APB's original music. "STAB AND STOMP!" is so much more personable than "secret bosses bgm01."

Well the DS MBL was all messed up so you did the right thing there. I reckon you'll be needing JP MS points for this DLC though, yep.

I'm really surprised that was so fast. It's weird they didn't say anything about it pre-release.

Psyched to play BL more than the normal version anyway. I really hope you can switch the soundtracks, like on Ketsui and EspGaluda II, since I find the main soundtrack to DFK kinda lackluster.

Strider77 wrote:DOJ is way over rated.... hard, but boring and not so fun in the scoring department for me.
I used to not like it at all, for a number of reasons, but i've grown to enjoy it now. It helps that I can play well enough to not get killed every two seconds now(have made it to stage 4's boss, which is pretty surprising for me).

The weakest looking boss in there is stage 4's which I think is the lamest boss I have ever seen in a Cave game. It reminds me of a potato/yam.

Gifting items that expensive won't make a difference, it just raises the limit from £18 to £40. This is about £60.

The handeling fee from the courier is bulshit though.

so the only way to get 1.51 and BLabel is to have the first print DLC card? :(

If you want to have 1.51 yes, just like Futari you will need the card that will give a code to redeem an unlock key that will let you play it. However if you own a Jtag system it won't be much of a trouble to get it.
As for BL don't worry since it will be availabel soon for everyone but the price of such DLC remains to be seen since capcom charged previous BL modes for 1200MS point.
