Hello! I have been lurking in these forums the past few months, as my interest in shmups has recently been sparked for the first time. I am very excited to discuss with everyone, and maybe make some purchases or trades while I'm here!
I play all of my shmups on consoles, so no pc stuff for me (although I am trying out tohou a bit)
The consoles I shmup on are: nes, snes, genesis, saturn, ps2, and 360. I have a few others but no shmups for them, like the dreamcast.
My favorite shmups at the moment are Gradius V and Raiden IV, although I am also enjoying some classics like Truxton. Glad to meet you!

Ha ha, indeed I will. I could definately use some strategy on Ikaruga.

You should check out the existing Ikaruga help request threads (which I guess was rescued from the previous iteration of this forum, thus the mess). Also, I'm told the version on XBLA plays differently from the other versions...
