RGBS to Component/YUV?
Is there an affordable and easy-ish (I have limited electronics experience) way to convert an RGBS signal to the YUV component inputs on my television?
thanks for any help!

Re: RGBS to Component/YUV?
I have a transcoder I purchased off ebay for about $50 that works great. can't find one on there right now though.

Re: RGBS to Component/YUV?
To use something like that, I'd have to build some sort of RGBS (it's four bnc connctors) to SCART, right?
Re: RGBS to Component/YUV?
correct, and that particular one has no problem accepting C-sync in place of C-vidThjodbjorn wrote:To use something like that, I'd have to build some sort of RGBS (it's four bnc connctors) to SCART, right?
what are you connecting?

Re: RGBS to Component/YUV?
I will be connecting (eventually, I hope) the RGBS out from an extron Emotia to my CRT which has a YUV input.
I receive the Emotia on thursday, so I will be using S-Video for a while.

I haven't tried the Emotia but an Extron composite to RGBS decoder worked fine.Thjodbjorn wrote:I will be connecting (eventually, I hope) the RGBS out from an extron Emotia to my CRT which has a YUV input.

Re: RGBS to Component/YUV?
I think the JROK v4 can do what you want. You just need to make a cable that goes from your Emotia to the RGBS header on the JROK, as well as a +5V DC power supply.
I have one which can run entirely off the A/V port of my NeoGeo home system, it will be about the same to build one with a separate DC power input.

Re: RGBS to Component/YUV?
they're back:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-game-system ... 564103693c
and now they include a 110V power supply.
I HIGHLY recommend this device. Genny, PS1/2, Dreamcast, Saturn, etc in beautiful 240p on your component CRT.
If your HDTV accepts 240p it is also very nice. Perfectly clear huge pixels, like an emulator but on real hardware.

Re: RGBS to Component/YUV?
If only there were a setup which could convert to 480p and add scanlines/RGB effect just like the SLG3000 that's being worked on.

There is, it's called XRGB.If only there were a setup which could convert to 480p and add scanlines/RGB effect just like the SLG3000 that's being worked on

I think this'll work; RGB SCART > YUV converter > iScan Pro > SLG3000.headlesshobbs wrote:If only there were a setup which could convert to 480p and add scanlines/RGB effect just like the SLG3000 that's being worked on.

plus counting how rare and difficult it's become to obtain over the years.
