A pretty common mistake since they're quite rare controllers to come across.

Not to mention that the smaller PSX Analog controller sold in the USA -- works like a charm on the USA PSX release of Ghost In the Shell (despite SCEA removing the single vibration feedback motor that was included on the JPN PSX smaller Analog controller). SCEA pulled the smaller PSX Analog controller off the market to promote it's 1st-gen Dual Shock controller in time for the debut of the first Gran Turismo game back in May of 1997. I recall paying the asking $44.99 USD for one brand new (Dual Shock controller) back in the day a few days prior to the debut of GT.

PSX Factoid: The USA PSX release of Ghost In the Shell does have built-in support for the both the smaller Analog controller + 1st gen Dual Shock controller (along with single vibration motor effect as well left intact). It isn't disclosed in the GiTS instruction manual either...you have to discover it for yourself.

GCE was considering releasing a right-handed variant Vectrex controller but they only made just one as a prototype. I recall seeing it up for sale on eBay back in 2000...went for a crazy amount of $$$ in the three figure range easily. I just have one of those production "lefty-variant" Vectrex control panels myself.

A5: NES
A6: Master System
B2: PC Engine/TurboGrafx 16
B4: Megadrive
B5: SNES
B6: Amstrad GX4000
C5: Looks like the Megadrive six button (Street Fighter II) pad, but the d-pad is wrong
C6: Atari Jaguar
D5: Saturn
E1: Original Playstation controller
E2: Virtual Boy
E4: N64
E5: PS1 Analogue controller
E6: Dreamcast
F1: Dual Shock
F2: Dual Shock 2
F3: Xbox
F4: Gamecube
F5: Xbox human-sized edition
G1: Xbox 360 wired
G2: Dual Shock 3
G3: Wii remote + nunchuck
G4: Wii classic
G5: Wii classic pro
G6: PS Move

EDIT: Looks like B6 threw some people. It looks like a PCE controller, but I think only the GX4000 pad has the flat top and lacks the start/select buttons. It's clear that Amstrad ripped the design off the PC Engine.

On a tangent, can anyone think of any consoles that didn't have a controller designed specifically for them? The only one I can think of is the Commodore C64GS.
