Pulstar difficulty.

Post by TWITCHDOCTOR »

I'm currently playing Pulstar again. I'm playing it through Kawa-X emu on the XBOX. I have the setting set to Japan Console, and when the game laods up, the default difficulty level is set at (4) out of (8). 8
Now, I have played the AES version, which is the one I almost completed, and the MVS (arcade cab) The MVS does seem tougher, due to the fact that MVS is harder than normal, which is what the AES is set at.

So, can anyone tell me what the default diff is for each.
I can find out from Nate this weekend, as he's the one with the AES and cab, but I wan't to know right away.(its bugging me)

Usually level 4 is MVS, you can see it at the bottom of the screen...that is, if your playing the MVS/arcade.

Normal on the AES is equivalent to Level 3 on MVS.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

Yea, I already knew that, but what I really want to know is, what is the default diff set at on the AES version?(I can't remember) Also, is it set this same way on the CD version as well?

Use the charge shot A LOT, like more then you would in an R-Type game.
Leeram's website has some cool Pulstar replays from Kiken, and it's pretty clear from watching them that you need to use the charge shot pretty frequently in order to do well in this game.

Yea, I use that technique as well.
I'm not one for watching replays though, does Kiken perform a 1CC in the video?

I think the difference between 3 (normal) and 4 MVS is enough to throw me off a bit at certain points.
My best run was done after about a months playing of approx an hour a day...I was able to get to the last level/halfway point. I never did see the last boss though.

It's a series of videos, and yep, it's a 1CC.

Ok, well since I can't watch the videos anyway, what diff level was Kiken playing on? Was it AES3 or MVS4?
