Duke Nukem Forever actually seems to have a plausible chance of release now that it's under the wing of the guys that did BioShock....

Nonetheless, I'm disappointed. I was looking forward to being able to play it without emulation issues by Christmas.

Amazon still says 27th october, at £14.91, but if I cancelled and reordered it would be £17.99, so I'm going to keep it ordered even though saving 3 quid is hardly a dealbreaker (I dont expect it any time soon).

This is the main reason I don't legitimately own many commercial shmups - I can't play them if they're not PAL and sold in Britain minimum.

Indeed, and that's ignoring the MA15+ rating limit. And particularly in my town we get the least amount of shmups compared to the rest (though we have After Burner Climax in an arcade machine and the Raiden games). Now you know how I feel.

What version will the PAL release be based on? The US and Japanese arcade release had a bit diffent style when it came to scoring and the fact that the US version loops.

There are so many companies behind publishing this game in PAL yet they cant even give us a exact release date.
