I've already had it extracted (it's an XMA file that I've converted to FLAC) but I suppose it's against the rules to post it here.

This thread is like a vinyl record.

Leave it up to the mods to regulate.

I will rate the game 5 of 5 on xbla despite the flaw. I want to see more shmups on live, even if they are on mame.

Thumbs up! It is called XBOX LIVE ARCADE after all!

It should be a haven for those of us who just want to enjoy a 15 minute romp on a game we remember from our past. A place where you can blow off some steam after 2 hours of COD/Modern Warfare/Halo and getting called "bitch" for the 1,511th time.

In hindsight, it's not as bad as when everyone went batshit over DeathSmiles's localized dialogue, which didn't even affect gameplay.

That was like 2-3 people panicking over nothing (it's not going to sell!). Didn't you make a facebook group about it?

So anyone else notice coins aren't dropped the same as they are on the PCB? Jonny5 and I did some back to back play and found it to be quite different. The very first group of enemies for example doesn't drop coins when hit with your c-shot.

Alright guys, CAVE fanboy here and I decided I'm going to buy Guwange right now. I do have a hard time getting into it, but as with most games, I'm sure if I give it enough time I will probably love it. And if me buying it helps bring more to XBLA, then I'm all for it. !!!!

Loving this one so far but finding it a steep learning curve. I find it very difficult to switch focus between my shiki's positioning and the general swirling death spam.

I have definately improved though and I've now seen the third stage on one credit a few times.

Is it just me or the guy who's playing the game in the video has no idea on how to play it??

That is what happens when a Cave shmup is released for someone who only plays Assassin's Creed or Gears of War.

Wow, now who's being a bunch of cretinous snobs? Is that kind of talk really any more interesting or conducive to the thread than a few people having a moan about the crappy screen setup? Looking down your nose at people who don't know as much about the game, nor are as good as you, is a pretty low passtime, and is by far the very worst element of this community. Yes, worse even than region-free talk. Given how useless the tutorial screens are in the XBLA version, it's hardly surprising that newbies don't know what they're supposed to be doing.

It's not simply that he doesn't know what he's doing. It's that he doesn't know what he's doing, regarding even the most basic elements.. AND he's making videos to teach people how to play.

Also, are you going to try getting all the current threads locked?

My post wasn't just in reference to that particular video. It's the stinking attitude of a lot of people here that permeates the whole forum. The levels of outright unpleasant snobbishness are wholey reflected in the near-death of the genre. So what if the guy/girl doesn't know what they're doing? Are they having fun? Most likely. Are Cave getting free publicity (that they very definitely need) from all the videos appearing on YouTube? Absolutely.

Is it hilariously incompetent, totally needless, a cheap effort to gain views, and totally worthy of ridicule? Absolutely. Are you getting riled up about snobbishness on a video game forum? You betcha.

I'm not getting riled up. I just thought it was worth pointing out the irony of people complaining about talk of the fucked-up screen configuration then going on to poke fun at someone who isn't very good at the game. Poking fun at someone with less skills than yourself doesn't seem like any more a valuable passtime than making a few technical observations about the game.

If I am to look at a video on Youtube of a cat getting surprised and jumping into a wall, and laughing at the stupid cat, this does not mean I hate cats (though I do).

Have Mame version. Bought 360 version as fuck all money, it's a shmup and there's extra features.

Downloaded.

Started it, messed around with the options, tated it but didn't stretch it out and then turned my PC screen 90 degrees (and turned wallpaper brightness to 0).

Great game. Love playing it on the 360. Have no idea what everyone has been going on about and have hardly read any of it.

My advice, if you like shmups go ahead and buy it.

I did find a roundabout way of getting the game fullscreen on my cab. I set my 360 VGA display option to 848x480. My Emotia still works with this resolution, but cuts off a bit on the right side of the screen. Just went into Guwange's display settings from there, and was able to get it to go fullscreen. Just a thought for anyone using VGA, this may help you.

I don't think it would be an issue at all if he hadn't called it a 'walkthrough on how to pass stages in Guwang".

Well, he was right. That's one way to get through it. Might not be to your liking, but his statement isn't false. Not my personal cup of tea either, but if he's having fun doing it, can't see the harm in it.

You clearly don't understand the fundamental need of some people to get into a little huddle and ridicule others out of earshot.

It's called 'being a big man'.
