Not because I feel the need for extra grip or anything daft like that I must point out, but because my circulation is rubbish:
my hands are literally purple if I'm not wearing gloves unless it's extremely hot.
I knew I couldn't be the only who does this, my friends say it's weird but now I feel vindicated. Last time I played Progear I was just dying repeatedly until I remembered I had gloves in my bag.

Anyway, I won't be able to make it tonight unfortunately but I'll be around next week.

I could pop down Sunday. I land in the UK from Montréal that morning, so it would have to be afternoon/evening.

On that subject, I had an awesome night with Kingbuzzo in Montréal's downtown arcade on Wednesday night. We owe that guy some good ol' Casino hospitality.

Sorry I missed you mate - After 2 hours sleep on a plane and some tasty jetlagged, an hour's sleep when I got home turned into six or seven, and then I'd missed the whole day!

So - lots of people heading down tonight?

I'll be there around 7.30pm.

AWESOME

Gordon the Drunk is out of jail. No Wonderboy machine for him though...

I'll have to dig out that shot from a year or so back, Gordon sprawled out over the middle of the arcade carpet.
CHI - Say "Hi" to him, Craig and everyone else for me.

Lol, wtf?!

Never seen that dude before. :o

Had a good time Chi, hope to catch you again soon. You're way better at turning up than Spadgy, so it's pretty likely. Keep burning the torch for DOJ in the meantime.

I've known Gordon for years. The reason why you haven't seen him is 'cause he's recently been banged up for breaking into fruit masssshines. He hooked up with Mark Raven from Southend who is a dodgy Monsta at the best of times. Instead of doing the legit tricks, Gordon got Seduced by the Dark Side.

Will it forever Dominate his Destiny? We shall see...

You what? Was I meant to meet you somewhere.

Also Skykid - I love the banner man!

Sadly tonight I was in Liverpool (AKA Lordstar Land) and only made it back very late.

In fact - next week, I'm off to Italy for work. How does Tuesday sound for Casino?

My god, I want your job. Do you ever stay in the country for more than a two week stretch? :)

I can't be bothered to keep evangelising about DOJ, so I thought I'd just make a banner to say it all for me.

I'm going to pop down this evening for some DOJ, which I'm finding to be an acquired taste. The traditional difficulty spike on Stage 3 seems unusually large though. Anyone else planning on going? I'll arrive around 7:30.

Also, could someone please explain the procedure for getting games installed at Casino? I've finally got round to buying a Supergun and a PCB (Mushi Futari v1.5), but sadly the Supergun is dead :(. So until I have the money to get it repaired or replaced, probably the only way I'll get to play my shiny new game is at Casino.

Wow! We'd be stoked to have Mushi F 1.5 in! What an offer! The process involves trying to be there when the engineer is in, and fluttering our eyelids at him and smiling so he installs it! We'll chat about it tonight JDE.

In terms of the security and safety of your board, I've never had a problem with any of mine at Casino, and I'm sure all the previous Cave games were lovely and safe .

Honestly - if we got that game in I'm sure we might see a slightly busier Thursday night!

On that subject - as long as the mag I work on makes it to the printers on time today, I'll be down at 7.30pm, and I plan to stay for a good while tonight. I've texted CHI too (although he might even be in Japan by now?). Hopefully a few more of you lot will turn up tonight too!

Lol, should I bring the board with me later in case the engineer is around then? And what would be the safest way to pack it, bearing in mind that I need to take the tube to get to Casino?

We could try tonight! The other thing is getting general consensus from people that it's OK to remove the game it replaces. I'm sure it could go with where Raiden DX is, or where my Viper Phase 1 is (and I could take that home).

It would be great though, to get it in the cab containing my DOJ, but I fear people are still playing that. You could bring it, and if CHI does turn up he could let us know his thoughts on DOJ.

In terms of transport, just lots of bubble wrap (preferably the pink anti-static stuff or an antistatic bag under the plain bubble wrap) and a nice box. You'll be able to keep the box in the cab while the game's in there.

OK, I'll bring the board with me tonight then. And although Mushi Futari would look very nice in the DOJ cab, personally I'd like DOJ to stay for a while longer; the more I play it the more I like it. On the other hand I may have to invest in a bar stool if Mushi Futari goes in one of the stand up cabs, or develop a better slouching technique.

Just got back home, I'm really sorry that I missed you CHI, there were massive delays on the tube and by the time I arrived I think you'd left. And Spadgy, sorry to hear that you got stuck at work, that sucks.

Not everything went pear-shaped this evening though: I managed to get up to the last boss on Progear for the first time, and got a new hi-score as well (7,977,400). Hopefully everything will go a bit more smoothly next time and we'll get to install the board.

Yeah - I'm gutted too.

Screwed over by transport and work!

Good work on Progear though JDE. That 1CC is close!

I actually consoled myself at home by firing up my JPN Progear. got a 1-ALL and beat my best score (by all of 1,000 points). I really wanna take Skykid's score!

Wow, Mushi Futari in the Casino would be amazing! But obv after everyone's fed up with DOJ :D

I wish I could come to more meets, but I'm always so sleepy from work. I manage to get there at least once a week, just never on a Thursday it seems. One day!
