@drunkninja24 - thanks for the info. I'm not getting this, and yes we need to let them know about all this forced 16:9 stuff.

I can just believe how the've messed up this game. The letterbox is horrible. Is this back to the 90's or something???
I just hope that at least Dangun won't be messed again.

I'm supporting this but this is bullshit..... I refuse to use a 16:9 monitor w/ an external stick when I have a freakin' EII for this. I urge you all to support this as well despite it's brokenness concerning 4:3. It pangs me... Oh my heart...

they also messed up the leaderboards at the xbox dashboard. (highest score = last place)

If you want to play an XBLA game in Japanese, just switch your console language/region to Japanese.

i confirm this, you just need to switch language and the game will have the original logo, regardless of what region the account is

You can do that, it's just a bit buried. Once I get my hands on my 360 again, I'll look for the option, but I was able to fully rotate and zoom my screen just fine.

Ah bum. Sorry. Well, it's only 15" tall whereas the screen is 20" tall. Massive borders top and bottom.
I have a 1024x768 16:9 plasma that every other game works fine for in VGA at that res. Apart from Deathsmiles US and this. It can be fixed by changing the res, but then it's not outputting at the res of the screen blah blah [/uber geek nerd resolution rage].

It's attached in this thread at ntsc-uk if anyone cares.

Once I figured out how to zoom the screen in it's not so bad. I never really mind letter boxing, most of the time I don't even realize it when I'm watching movies, and when playing games I'm so close to the screen anyway. It's a small gripe, so many people have wide screen tv-s by now, we are in the minority with a preference for rockin' CRT-s. This shoud look pretty damn good when I have it hooked up to my TATE tv, the letterboxing for the TATE mode is a lttle questionable, They probably just couldn't change it without f'n up the whole thing. C'mon guys, you have to realize that they are really trying to be on our side. With the amount of games they are pumping out right now, of course there are going to be small problems here and there. I would hardly say this is a deal breaker. It's worth it for a global leader board, I could never figure out my score in MAME.
I'm really liking the new Arrange 360. Too easy of course. If you stay off of the bottom of th3e screen and manage all of the new cancle-bats that stream in, you are golden. Haven't quite cleared it yet, keep getting torn up by the final form of the final boss.. I'm a big fan of these weird ass Arrange modes though, I love seeing what twists they can add to their games, I do wish that they were a little bit more difficult though, so it could attract some more serious play. It does feel great to tear up a game that gives me such a hard time though. Take that wimpy ass cat-spider!
So much for this having difficult achievements.. You can get the coin and score ones in arrange, without really trying.. I have two secret ones left, I'm guessing one is a 1CC, hopefully you can't just get it for Arrange though. The last? I dunno, maybe it can be for chaining the entire game, even in Arrange that might take a little effort, but it should be doable. Of course, I don't actually know if this is the achievement, I'm just guessing.
Lot's of fun to be had here! Don't be a tight ass, get the game of you like it! We want more!
Edit: I really do want to mention that usually I hate rather large sprites with no visable hit box. I have a really hard time with keeping an ideal of where it is. In Guwange though, I do not have that problem at all! I just seem to know where it is, and have absolutly no problem dodging the most insane shit! I do better with my dodging in this than most shmups alltogether, it's just juggle-ing two sprites, slowing/cancling bullets that'll get me killed.

Why don't you rehost it on one of the internet's ten million image hosting sites (I use TinyPic) so people without ntsc-uk accounts can see it here?

Except that enabling 4:3 mode is simple and they damn well know who to do it because they did for DS and Galuda. DS2 had forced 16:9 but that makes at least a little sense because the primary mode is IIx and that's 16:9 native. For Guwange it makes no sense at all.

I tate. This frustrates me.

Guess I'll find out when I get home from work, but I play TATE stuff on 360 on a flipped 4:3 20" LCD hooked up via DVI. Is it going to letterbox on this setup as well? I don't even own a CRT set any more. They just take up too much space.

couldnt play much of it this morning, but what are the differences with arrange and blue compared to arcade classic?

To me it just seems blue has more bullets, and in arrange you slow down all bullets when the shikigami is in use. do you get more coins not using the shikigami in arrange?

I have a crappy TV so i cant really complain about the screen settings :D

I can already play Guwange on my jtag through FinalBurn on my cab, but I was thinking about getting this anyway for the arrange mode. What is the deal with the zoom? It doesn't allow you to zoom the screen in through an options menu, like all the other CAVE 360 ports? I might not bother if that's the case.

I'm just stunned that of all the things Cave drops the ball on its aspect ratio. This has made me rethink whether to buy it or not as even though its just $10 I have better things to do than plummet time into something half assed. Playing this on a cabinet with the same border space of Emphatic would drive me up the wall. If this is the new deal though and DFK has the same issue I think Cave is being lazy, how hard is it to code resolution? Especially resolution your team is probably very familiar with?

I tried my same trick as DSII to get it fullscreen on my VGA crt. If I set the video options on my console to 848 x 480 it will display on my VGA (640 x 480 max res) crt without any black bars (the xbox menu will be a little stretched). This worked in DSII arcade mode because you can stretch the x and y axis independently, but in this port you can only zoom the x and y at the same ratio which doesn't really help. Here is the best I can get it on my cab:

Image

so the vert is a little squished...... and I'm not messing with my width coil on the monitor chasis for one game.

I'm so glad this is DLC and I could try the demo. If it had been on disc, which I would have pre-ordered, I'd now be using it as an expensive frisbee. Tate but no 4:3? No thanks :(

The standard menu is there, it's just hard to find, seems almost hidden. With a little help here, and previos experience I found it. Anybody new to their games/most normal gamers WILL NOT find it, and be very put off by the super tiny screen size. That is bad for buisness. Just try to communicate this, and help out with it when trying to get other people to purchase the game.

It seems that if you're playing score attack and you get disconnected from Xbox Live, the game just ends. My internet connection has been pretty unstable lately, so that could get really annoying.
