It's also letterboxed on 1280x1024 , so yeah.. always forced widescreen. I wonder how they managed to mess that up.
On my yoko 1080P LCD the game window is 4:3, and bang in the middle of the screen. (Default settings)

There's no way to change this at all? Damn.

Anyone figure out what the greyed out things in the advanced settings for display there were? I'm no expert with LCD monitors and crap like that but maybe there's some switch to enable those and maybe those will extend to the full screen?

At least you can do that under Control Settings.

That much I'm certain of. Not that I really felt the need to change them mind you....

Anyone figured out what difficulty the modes are for Offline Mode by default? Training Mode provides an Easy, Normal, Hard and Hardest but I don't know which setting in Training emulates the default mode.

Also, died at Stage 5 boss. First got distracted by losing my game-long chain of over 25000 coins and then lost focus and couldnt navigate around Incredible Hulk's bullet hell.

Oh right, ok.

I'm still pissed that this game has forced widescreen below 720p. I mean, it wouldn't be that bad if I could maximize the screen fully, but no.

In the screen settings when you have the large picture of the control pad you can completely customise the screen. Read what the buttons say.

I'm not seeing anything that says how I can adjust vertically without having to "expand", aka, constrain aspect ratio.

Also, that splash menu with the controller before showing the expanded settings is in Yoko while I have the settings in Tate. Seriously, what the fuck.

I HAVE to expand to 4.00 (no sign of "dot by dot", either) in order to full the full screen, but since it expands vertically and horizontally at the same time, it chops off a great deal of content.

That is pretty shitty. I'm still trying to get my head around the display options.

On a more positive note, Blue Arrange is sick. I'm yet to try 360 arrange.

Steering the conversation to achievements as I can be a whore at times, they don't half look easy to obtain considering the opening scores for the Arrange Modes posted earlier in the thread.

Is this true as won't be playing until tonight.

I cannot even figure out the display settings. This is a botched release so far. Why not just use the same display settings as Espgaluda or Mushihimesama Futari.

WTF Why screw up the aspect ratio on Deathsmiles 2 X and Guwange? Its not like these games were made 16:9 originally anyways.

My impressions are that it's a "good" port. I don't like the way it looks with the smoothing off(on a CRT or especially an LCD) as it looks too "shaky". The smoothing is good. It's a little too smooth, and I would have liked it to look a little more pixely. But it's good enough. Looks better on a CRT in this mode(obviously). It's a shade below Ketsui's best filter(forgetting the name of it).

The menus are totally confusing. That's gonna throw some people off.
The forced letter box in 4:3 is my only major complaint. Really really really stupid.
Maybe we can harass Asada to patch the damn thing.

Good overall. Snag it....well, if you like Guwange. If you're tating this on a CRT you shouldn't have any issues.

If this no-4:3 bullshit is a sign of what's to expect from CAVE's own ports, I'd say fuck 'em. What if you load up DDP-DFK later this month and see black bars around the CAVE logo. Someone @ CAVE 360 division should get a punch in the face.

My thoughts exactly. I have no idea what they were thinking. Cave purists like to play the game in the original Aspect Ratio. This just does not cut it.

There is a issue when you have to physically change your monitor settings for 1 game. Even KOF Sky Stage displays 4:3 Tate completely with no borders. This is the first botched Vertical game release and the second botched Cave port (DeathSmiles 2X) in what seems to be a annual thing. I am worried about DDDF 1.5 now.

I sold my PCB shortly after this was announced. Have experienced the quality of the previous ports I was expecting something that was comparable to the original. I was wrong. Guess I am stuck playing a MAME version if I want to display the game right on my Cabinet. Seriously though what were they thinking? I mean Seriously this has all kinds of WTF? going on with their rational. Outside of my bitch fest the game actually plays well and the controls are pretty responsive. If they can patch it up to fix the 4:3 issue they have another winner as far as im concerned.

I am sure this is something M2 will not do to Dangun Feveron.

^^this. They did some patching for DS2X' arcade mode IIRC, including the option to remap the controls.

yosai: If I do this, all other 360 games + my MAME setup will suffer in one swift stroke. It's just very poorly done by whoever is in charge. That is all.

Title Update is always a possibility on 360. Obviously, MS is not very keen on patching non-mp stuff, but it has happen often in the past. Maybe complaining to CAVE directly could make them see how important this is. If I was fluent in Japanese, I would definitely let them know the added benefit that option has on committed shmup users.

Anyone got his email?

We should all consider writing him a letter immediately. The sooner the better otherwise we might be waiting forever like the DOJ patch. This is something that can probally be fixed easily if they really care enough to listen to the fans.

Okay, now I understand that you're pissed at the aspect ratio... Owning the pcb and selling it in the hopes of an arcade-perfect port... Yup, that would actually give me the rabbies...

I suggest you vent your disappointment with the 4:3 crap there, as I just did.

This is not a CAVE port though, so it's not relevant.

I am aware 5pb / Aqua Systems botched this. I am just using it as in reference to time as if it ever comes out. Seems to me like the patch is Vaporware for DOJ and the chances of Cave actually fixing Guwange's display aspect ratio in 4:3 are slim at best.
