dvdo edge SCART cable anyone?

Post by BuckoA51 »

Does anyone know where I can get a RGB SCART to DVDO Edge cable from? I'm located in the UK but don't mind importing it.

Thanks in advance.

Very hard to find unless you have it custom made. There's always a 13 Euro Scart to RCA breakout cable for the Edge on ebay italy: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/350389010756 , but it's got a male scart connector. you can use this and and add something like this:

The problem in general is that female scart sockets which can be attached to cables are hardly made and sold anymore.

That will do nicely thanks, I'm sure I have one of those SCART gender changers somewhere, I used to use it to join two cables together for a longer cable run.

Thanks very much for your help, this will do nicely for the occasional PAL game the XRGB-3 won't handle

PS - If anyone needs the SCART gender changer, it still seems fairly easy to get, see http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hama-00043545-S ... pd_cp_ce_2

Just a warning to anyone looking for this cable. I had the cable from the E-bay seller in Italy and it's only been a couple of weeks and it's developed a fault already (loss of colour when the cable neck is moved). Very poor quality cable. Luckily the dealer (AVToad in the UK) that I got the Edge from has some better quality ones in stock.

Sorry to hear! On the other hand bad contacts are becoming more and more common with this damned lead-free tin-solder nowadays and of course very easily to resolve with a soldering iron...

Not to worry, I ordered the better quality one and we'll see how that goes, haemorrhaging money since buying my new TV lol  Might not even need to use SCART to the Edge if the XRGB + Edge works at 50hz too. Mind you it's still useful for any interlace games that are out there since I much prefer the Edge's deinterlacing even in Gamermode.
