Thanks for the replays!

Normal Course / Hard
Battletoad - 40,622,800 - Stage 4

Crappy placeholder score. Even a first place because of newer revision. Shame...

Normal Course / Normal Difficulty
Battletoad - 106,637,804 - ALL - Replay

Alright! Just one death in stage 5 and not even my fault, my keyboard did some crazy things there (after I returned from a longer break after 1st loop). Scoring was ok, too, I´m happy with the result. :)

I don´t have time to check the replay, so I just hope it´s not broken.
I still have to look at your 150 mill replay. But I think it´s back to EX course or Mars Matrix for now.

EX1 - Very Hard

Plasmo - 44,758,690 - Replay

Just barely got my first place back. :)
Activated a few more hyperdrive than Azinth and played very risky, but it wasn't worth that much. I guess it's all about the right timing when destroying the huge enemies that cancel all bullets. For now this is just too frustrating and I'm happy with my current score and of course place.

Or not:

Normal Course / Hard
Battletoad - 110,728,100 - Stage 8

Stage 4/8 gave me some problems. I died stupidly and repeatedly without throwing any bombs. Now in this run I could get to the stage 8 boss (not true last boss) all of a sudden. Stage 3 and 7 went quite well, but the midboss becomes really hard already, died there in 7. In general comparison to normal difficulty it was more bullets --> more overdrive. Some situations inspired me for better bullet scratching in normal difficulty, too.

EDIT: How can I record a video (avi or whatever) from my replay? I´d maybe like to put something on YouTube, but don´t have any idea which program/method I could use to make a video...

Normal - 95.304.558 - ALL - Replay coming soon.

It was a just-for-fun coin. Made really sewere score failures. Only 2 avoidable deaths in the whole run. 100.000.000 is very close.

Normal - 99.644.161 - ALL

I really don´t know why this game does not want me to get past the 100M!

Everything went fine except some sewere mistakes in the second wave. Like always.

Oh and if you watch that replay take a look at the Stage 8 Boss. A really nice "normally i should have died, but didn´t do"-dodge from me. You will see which one i mean.

EX3-Very Hard
Azinth - 29,732,168

I no-miss/no-bombed up to the boss, yet this was all I got. That, and I've yet to actually beat the boss without timing it out. I must be missing something here

Are you playing the newest revision? The main difference is that in older ones, the huge tanks don't cancel bullets into chips as they do in the newer one (revision 8).
If you did a no miss/ no bomb up to the boss, there's absolutely no way your score's only 29mill. Should be more like 100mill at least.

If all goes wrong you can always watch the replays of course. If you have an older revision, you shouldn't even be able to play them though...

Normal Course / Normal Difficulty
Battletoad - 114,811,030 - ALL

Nah, should have been at least 120 mill, if there hadn´t been this dumb death in stage 7.

EX Course / Insane
Battletoad - 411,352,680 - Stage 3

Yeah, stage 3! Just messing around some more here, but almost got the midboss beaten.

Score Attack / Very Hard
EX1: Battletoad - 13,418,674
EX4: Battletoad - 4,304,244
EX0: Battletoad - 30,740,563

EX0 probably is the most awesome stage in the game, but also the hardest. :o
In EX1 I managed the first half of the stage quite well. I survive the first big enemy (with the destroyable turrets) surprisingly often, but those 2 big bullet spraying ships are giving me a lot of trouble. And let´s not even talk about the midboss. The 2nd half of the stage is ok, too, but it´s these two points that drastically ruin my score. Well needs more practice. I´ll probably stick with EX1 and EX0.

Sometimes the midbosses in EX0 shoot and sometimes not, what´s the cause of this?

Nice scores, keep 'em coming!

If you're talking about the bit where the screen stops scrolling and four enemies start surrounding you, then it's all about proximity. Just don't get too close to them and you'll be fine. Otherwise they stop moving and shoot a very deadly attack pattern.

Battletoad - 129,763,221 - ALL - Replay

Cool! I almost can´t complain about anything in the whole run. Well except for how I screwed up stage 8 so horribly... Otherwise I guess 135 mill could have been possible. But I´m very content anyway. :)

Plasmo - 166,436,940 - ALL

I lost all my lives from the fourth stage on and even died in the middle of stage 7. Finished the game with no lives left.
Bascially I've tried some new strategies and this was my first attempt. 170mill is easily possible. Don't watch the replay as it's very bad and has deaths all over the place...

I was bored.
By the way, to play the replay you gotta select ex-course before playing it.

Really nice replay, but I unfortunately can not accept your score. The reason:

There are two revision 8! The only difference being this point:

- Bullet cancels in EX3 produce less DAL coins.

(have a look at your xopblack.txt document, Sasu. This change shouldn't be listed there)

That also explains why azinth can't reach higher scores on EX3. It seems like I and Sasupoika are the only ones still playing with the old rev.8 so I will delete our EX3 and EX course scores. This includes your EX Insane score...I'm really sorry...

Why didn't Uddedude tell us.

Also, the change does not affect demo compatibility so you should be able to play demos in the newer one.

Plasmo´s EX3 replay didn´t work for me, but for his earlier Revision 8. :(
When I watched it, he "died" shortly before the boss where he shouldn´t have.

Damn that death at TLB's last attack. I could have gotten one extra million out of it. Overall it went better than my last run.
I am going to try insane when I stop crashing into bullets and dying with full bomb-stocks.

One miss, one bomb. Especially the bomb was one of the most awesome I've ever used.
If I would ever stop doing dumb shit like that my score would be around 210mill.

EX course - Normal

Plasmo - 85,620,101 - ALL - Replay

Two very dumb deaths. The second one was in the very last moment of the TLB, could've easily been prevented and given me another 1mill.

My route through stage 4 is still far from perfect and most things are improvised.

90mill is possible.

I suck... Don´t even know why the score is that low. I just died in stage 2 and bombed the stage 4 boss once. Ok and the bullet cancel on stage 3 wasn´t used well, but is it really that much difference? Need to watch your replays. :P

I did watch Sasupoika´s (yours made some problems again on Megaupload) and the main problem is, I underestimated the proximity bonus once again. So expect new scores soon. ;)

Ah and here a small improvement, but I think I´m just before the breakthrough here:

Crap scores inc.

Score-attack (very hard)
Sasupoika - 21,636,188 - EX2
No-miss, 2-bomb. Hmmm. I think I can improve a little if I no-bomb the boss. It really hurts my score.

Score-attack (very hard)
Sasupoika - 23,402,917 - EX3
