Before going for the expensive stuff you could get oldies but goodies like 1942, legendary wings, tiger heli , twin cobra, ikari warriors, EDF, arkanoid for really cheap. On the more expensive side Mad Shark, Hacha Mecha Fighter, Strahl, ninja baseball batman, undercover cops are really worth the price tags.

You already have everything I want + 30 more lol.

I think my PCB's would expire and die before I got to play all those.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Thought about some of those. Downside is that most of what you listed is either non-JAMMA (yeah, I know you can get adaptors...) or requires a specialized controller. I pretty much only do JAMMA....not rewiring my Egret 1 or getting a 2nd cab :D And as much as I'd LOVE to get an Arkanoid setup or Ghox, I can't find a feasible way to add a spinner to my cab without modifying it. I tried Arkanoid Returns for the F3, but it's shite with a joystick IMO.

I'll look up the more expensive ones :D Never heard of the first 3 and on the fence about Undercover Cops.

@neorichieb: LOL! I don't have time to play em all now....but I can't seem to stop grabbing em when I see a good deal! You'd be surprised at how many of those I got for under $50 each....

Pretty decent list! I'm a sucker for a good beat'em up like Robocop, Final Fight, etc., which can be had for fairly reasonable.

I've had a few beat em ups, kept a few, sold a few. I'm kinda picky about em. I had Aliens Vs. Predator, Punisher, Golden Axe, Double Dragon.....dumped em all. Kept Tower of Doom, Cadash, Warriors of Fate, Dynasty Wars....seems like a case by case which ones I like though. I definitely don't like em all. Some of em are pretty cheap like ya say, which is nice!

My recommendation is organization/repair work/upgrade work first. Don't take as long as I did- then nobody will really play your stuff outside of loans haha.

But yeah- take all the 'scrambled' boards and try the usuals- flex, re-seat, clean, re-flow, voltage check, de-suicide, etc to the best of your abilities. Then talk to channelmaniac/arcadecomponents.com or equivalent if you can find someone in Canada that does similar and send anything that is still not 100%.

Then if you haven't already- find a solution for storage (I just started using uniform U-Line boxes and anti static bag/bubbles)- maybe get a cheapo P-Touch Label maker and spit out some labels.

I'd do that before getting any more boards. I waited so long that it was a huge undertaking. I don't want to see anybody else fall into the same trap haha.

Good luck either way :D

I've got storage covered. Have anti-static bags for ALMOST all my boards, and I have custom board boxes made from lids from the boxes at my old work...very nice acdtually. No labels...I just use magic marker on the sides...but they fit everything just right ;)

I've got to get around to the fixing parts... *sigh* I know what's wrong with a couple....just don't have skills and/or equipment. The rest....I'll have to see!

Hmmm..have had Strider before and hated it (blasphemy I know!). Not a fan of the Bubble games either...they're not bad, but not something I'd play much if at all. The Ghosts and Goblins games I need to add though (though one isn't JAMMA).

You should add both Psikyo produced Strikers 1945 II and Strikers 1945 III PCBs (aka Strikers 1999 in JPN) to complete/compliment your lone Strikers 1945 PCB, maxlords.

The Psikyo produced Strikers 1945 Plus MVS cart is cool to own/play as well.

Paying $50 or thereabouts for a single Seibu Kaihatsu SP1 Viper Phase 1 U.S.A. cart ain't a bad deal either. It can be done...just gotta be at the right place at the right time to score on such a deal though.

Pretty sweet collection. Off the top of my head the only things missing would be Xexex and Garou Mark of the Wolves! :)

Hehehe will be adding Fantasy Zone and Strikers II and III to the list for sure. Need to check out Xexex. As for Garou.....I don't actually play fighters...the ones I have I got for free and kept in case people come over :D Can't stand the things myself!

Dang, scoring a Sky Shark for $50 shipped? Cool find there, maxlords. I was happy when I won an eBay auction for a barebones SP1 cart of Viper Phase 1 U.S.A. for a mere $20.00 USD + S&H = priceless. This was years ago. Have never seen such an auction like it since then.

I can't wait to find some obscure game and put it here so max can hoard it before I do!

Seriously though, I see no Ninja Emaki, your collection cannot be considered complete. (But you're halfway there.)

LOL....I DO like the obscurities!

I'll be honest. I looked at Battle Garrega and honestly thought it looked kind of boring. Looked pretty bland as Raizing stuff goes and I do have a few of their boards :D I had a Magic Sword but I ended up selling it....didn't really get into it and it's SOOO easy to credit feed through...and IMPOSSIBLE otherwise. lol

*looks up Ninja Emaki* That actually looks pretty good...like Ikari Warriors/Elemental Master/Gain Ground/Undead Line..... Is it a rare game?

Rare enough that I hope I have dibs on the next one to show up...pretty sure that would be a panic sale of Edward Randy or something else to get it, though. But yeah, one's not shown up on the 'Bay for years. There's been a flyer sitting there for a time though.

Some bastard ( ) with roots here snatched one up and won't sell it to me...can't blame him. (Apologies to him if he sees this post, but I get irrational about this game.)

From the scoring perspective it takes a looong time to ramp up, too long, and then it gets repetitive as you loop the game constantly. There's a secret (run around the fountain, wait for thing to come out, can be done at least once a loop, if not more) but that's all I know of. You get lives pretty easily in the US release, and you can play for a half hour easily even if you get hit regularly. Maybe even an hour. I've put well over a million into it on MAME. The Japanese version has tougher scoring and staying alive is harder as well. Neither version seems perfectly balanced, but I think that with a little work it would be a timeless classic.

Edit: Oh, some other random thoughts...Tatsujin Oh, that's a big name. Not fun to play necessarily, mainly due to falling asleep at the wheel syndrome. Bit of a wall at the first boss too. That being said, I see plenty of Toaplan games I wouldn't mind having - Hellfire, Rally Bike, and yes Tatsujin Ou. No Vimana, almost surprised you don't have that one already. Three Wonders I'd love to have a working copy of. :(

Sega put out lots of lovely stuff but...a lot of it uses weird non-JAMMA pinouts that require somewhat expensive adapters (I've got to make time to buy adapters for Ninja Princess and Shinobi, and unfortunately that's just to see if Shinobi works), and others are like Gain Ground, which additionally is on the wrong kind of monitor, and basically requires a dedicated cabinet or else some really ungodly supergun equipment and skill (or both). So eh I dunno.

"I killed Kenny, SO I GUESS I'M THAT BASTARD!" - Master P

I'm that bastard who snapped Ninja Emaki up if you're referring to me Ed Oscuro. My friend bought one probably 7-8 years ago off of Ebay because it was cheap. When he got it, we were blown away by it. Saw another one pop up maybe a year after that, then I went MIA and didn't get back into Jamma stuff til 2007. Then I searched endlessly for one but never saw one save for someone on KLOV said they bought a cab with Ninja Emaki in it and were going to convert it. I sent them a PM immediately and never heard anything. A year later I get a PM saying do you still want that PCB? DAMN RIGHT I DO! Weirdly my friend's PCB bit the dust around this time. Just displays 0's and 1's with full sound. Mine however works great. I consider it very rare and a very cool game. I also got it at a pretty good price.

Yeah man, that wound to our friendship is never gonna heal. I didn't want to say your name because I hope it's obvious I'm being blatantly unfair and if I had it I'd just be hoarding it.

(To be fair to myself, though, I've been looking a couple years longer than 2007, but it's been a long wait either way. "Waiting" sums up the story of my life since getting into classic gaming - I STILL don't have a working display setup for the X68000 for instance, after very nearly ten years now.)

I think I may have a lead on one but they want like $175+ for it. Ehh.

Is it only Ninja Emaki, the US version, that's rare? Because the Japanese version's not rare at all. MAK had one for 8,400 yen for ages before it sold.

Well, I think that answers the question. Any copies of the Western version have been harder to find than hen teeth, but I think I've seen the Japanese one a few times on lists those PCB suppliers spam my inbox with. I could pick one up, but as mentioned it's not the same. Similar situation to Super Contra, but a different region (though Super Contra can be found, it's just expensive).

Indeed, I bought a US Super Contra for $40, whereas the Japanese ones here are 29,400 yen, in MAK at least. I sold that US version for 10,000 yen on Yahoo Auctions. It's a big three-layer board, so I was happy enough to get it sold for that.

Super Contra is HUGE....one of the only boards I have that doesn't fit in normal size PCB boxes I make. Had to make a special one just for it. Glad the US one is pretty cheap...same with regular Contra. Damned hard games tho....is it me or are the PCBs harder than the NES versions?

Y'know, I've never beat the NES versions but I've done the arcade versions in MAME both at least once each. I blame the keyboard.
