XRGB-3 firmware updating problems

Post by Madtea »

I tried to update my new XRGB-3 to the english firmware but my win7 pc doesn't seem to be able to recognize it. Ive tried unplugging and re-plugging it in and even trying it on another computer with winxp but nothing seems to work. HELP PLEASE!

It doesn't work with Win 7. I think you need XP.

Could you give a step by step list of things you tried? (e.g. 1. Plug XRGB into PC using USB cable, ... ect).

What version of Win7 are you using (32-bit or 64-bit)?

Have you tried using a different USB cable?

What is your current firmware version?

I recently installed Win7 (32-bit) and just tried installing the XRGB-3 via USB. All good so far... perhaps there's a USB driver issue with 64-bit editions..? :?

1. Connect XRGB-3 to power
2. Connect USB connection on XRGB-3 to PC USB input (A to B cable)
3. Press the power button on XRGB-3 to initiate device enumeration and driver installation
4. Open device manager (devmgmt.msc)
5. Verify device installation (installed as HID-compliant device)

Are there any precautions to take when updating a brand new xrgb3 to English?

no, but while you're at it, don't forget to update with the B1 firmware as well in case you want to use scanlines.

Cheers Fudoh :)

So Japanese v.1.00 firmware first, then English v.2.12firmware?

B1 is not a default option then? :?

yes, I'd install japanese B1 first and then the english FW.

You can get all the installers from the Micomsoft download page.

I just bought an xrgb3 and it was all in JApanese and I think I have just bricked it using a japanese installer (I just clicked the icons what I thought would update it!)

Now when I turn it on there's nothing onscreen.

Does anyone know how I can get it working with an English firmware? I'd be eternally grateful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
