Man, you know they won't deliver it until 3:00 or so.

They save all of the home deliveries until the end of the day.

You should go catch a matinee of the Island.

EDIT: 7:48. Just sent an email to my boss telling him that my girlfriend was up all night puking and I have to go now and take her to the doctor. To quote Family Guy, "Now we play the waiting game."

Mine just got here 10 min ago :) I'm installing it to my HD as I speak...

Yah, I could just pop it in and play, but eh... I like having all those games, which I bought mind you, on my HD.. kinda nice to have DOJ, Galuda and this all easily accesable.. :)

The disc is such a nice white color though :)

I had mine delivered into my work address. The day before somebody from UPS called to confirm some other stuff and mentioned that the package would be delivered on Friday during business hours to my home address. Which wasn't a good idea, since I work business hours. Luckily it worked out this way.

But damn were my morals ever tested. There I was, with Mushi sitting right next to me and I still had 3 hours left. I managed to hang on, though.

(As a sidenote, I also had Mars Matrix waiting for me when I returned home. It's a shmuppy weekend!)

Like everyone who has it has said, it's one solid game and port. Shame they didn't include both tate and tate hosei like with DOJ and Galuda, since my monitor could handle it, but I won't lose any sleep over the fact.

I find myself very attracted to Original, which surprises me a bit. Those "blink-and-they're-offscreen" bullets are just so fun to dodge. Not to say Maniac isn't fun, as it is. Very nice, I like how the patterns undulate constantly (in all modes, really). Ultra is just mad. I barely reached Stage 2 with my last life.

Arrange was kinda weird, I reached the true last boss on my first go. In Original and Maniac I reached Stage 3.

Yes, I believe I am happy with this game.

I just got mine about two hours ago and I did the same thing. I intend to go back and clear arrange before the day is out just to get it out of the way. It's definitely the mode for people that aren't that familiar with Cave or even shmups in general. It's like having a perfect game every time as the game gives you full power-ups to start and bombs for you when you get hit. It's like having 20 lives or something.

Here's my breakdown of the modes:

Original: Seriously, this is EXACTLY what I think a Psikyo game would look like if Cave helped them make one. The bullets are super fast but sparse. I actually find this a lot harder that Maniac. Gone is the Dodonpachi-esque scoring system, so it's just pure blast and survive.

Maniac: Classic Cave. Slowdown in the thick clouds to help you see your way through, unrelenting bosses, and scoring madness. The Dodonpachi-esque scoring here makes this mode a lot more interesting to me so far.

Ultra: Absoulute crack-hard, murder-you-in-your-sleep difficult.

Arrange: Ever played a Psikyo game on Monkey? Here you go.

Yeah, I find original harder than Maniac too. The third stage bullets get rather fast.

Good, it's not just me. This was my initial impression almost a year ago when I first played it... so I wasn't just high.

I was JUST about to post the same thing. :D I haven't managed to beat Stage 3 boss yet in Original.

Yes...stage 3 Boss is damned hard in original mode, I'm not able to kill him too.
I think a lot of times I'm also distracted by its graphical magnificence....so beauty with its tranparencies....seems like coming from a dream.

Stage 3 is straight out of Elemental Master, with the way the ground is just blackened crust on top of lava. In fact the whole level makes me think of Sega Genesis with the mulit-segmented boss that takes a whole level to destroy and the way that it's parts blow off to reveal a cracked shell. It's all too cool.

This game already has its hooks in me. It's more visceral that Galuda and more forgiving than DOJ. Perfect brew?

Stage 3 reminds me of Gigawing Stage 1 for some reason(except I cant get past it)
Good game tho.
Couple of questions...what exactly is arrange mode and why is the scoring much higher???...and...What did the missing TATE modes offer that the included doesn't.
Thanks in advance

Arrange mode has the combo counter, only it seems that the counter never goes down. In Maniac mode you have to be contantly hitting enemies to keep the number from falling, but in Arrange it just continues to climb.

I ordered the LE from NCSX a few days ago, should have it by Monday (hopefully). Is there a spot on their site to track?

Haven't ordered from them in a while but they used to have an "Order History" page or something after you log in to your account where they'd put up tracking numbers.

I don't have an online account, I just ordered via phone and credit card. Oh well.

Maybe they could give you a number over the phone then, but they're probably gone until Monday anyway at this point.

Yeah, if I don't get it by Monday I will give them a ring. I paid extra for priority shipping so it'd be annoying if I didn't get it by then. But I'd like to think I'd get it faster than if I'd ordered from Play Asia since they are in the U.S. Whatever import I order next will be from PA, just didn't want to my first "trial" PA order to be such an important game.

I ordered from Play-Asia and I'm in the U.S. Got mine at about 9:30 this morning. Of course, I paid almost $25 for shipping, but a new Cave game is an event that I allow a little splurge on.

Shit. UPS didn't drop it off at the front desk, so I have to wait till monday to get it.

Oh well, I guess i'm stuck with my burned copy.

That said, NCS has been great. They shipped it yesterday, and they tried to deliver it today.

Cleared "Very Easy" and "Easy" in Orginal mode. I am now working on the "Normal" difficulty, reaching stage 5 only once so far.
Reaching stage 4 or not would totally depends on wether I can get the extra 2 lifes on stage 3.

BTW, if no body have mensioned it before, here is how to get the "1up" at stage 3. At stage 3 just when you reach at the mouth of the big bug just before the boss. Distory the parts on the sides. shoot the mouth last. When the mouth is distroyed, a '1up" would appear.

That Damed PlayAsia, I still dosen't received my preorder LE copy. MushiHimeSama had already been avaliable at local game store for 3 days. I am thinking of not preorder my TSS LPP from PlayAsia, ans wait for it to become avaliable at the local game stores.

I've had a chance to play it a bunch more. I've spent almost all my time in original mode too. In fact, I was having so much fun with original mode, I didn't try maniac or arragned until today. Anyway, some of the things I said yesterday are incorrect. Argh...
I believe any slow down is normal. I actually don't notice too much slow down at all.

There is definately a lot more slow down in maniac mode. I still think it is probably normal. I really need that slow down to survive too!
One annoyance is that the autosave doesn't automatically save high scores.
It doesn't autosave "Today's Scores", which don't need to be saved. I didn't realize there were different high score lists before. There are two lists for each game mode. Today's high scores and record high scores. The record high scores are autosaved.

Yes, it's normal. The arcade game is running at nearly half speed for practically the entirety of ultra.

What?! You got your copy from PlayAsia already and you are in the States?! Those damned PlayAsia guys, just won't pack and ship my copy even today.

I wish I choose EMS when I first place my order. But the damned PlayAsia only present me with one delivary option - Local delivary, after I entered my shipping address into the system. Local shipping should arrive overnight once shipped, they just not packing my game!!! This missed the whole point of preordered the game in advance. On the other hand, PlayAsia did not charge me anything for delivary.

I must addmited that I had been a bit harsh on the shippment date. But yet the local retail store have it for sale on 20th. PlayAsia must had got their goods on 18th or 19th.
