Wow, upon seeing this thread my heart sunk, I really didn't want to believe it...
Goes without saying that ROBOTRON's presence here is going to be irreplaceable, and sorely missed.
My prayers go out to his friends and family.

Oh man.. I always got good vibes from seeing Robo's avatar. From what I know, he seemed like a great guy, and a genius comedian =) I just recently discovered what was going on in the introductions thread. I rarely "lol" at anything here, but ROBOTRON's greetings always cracked me up, always. Even before this unfortunate piece of news I had decided to read through all of them, and now I most definitely will.

R.I.P., thanks for playing, see you next

Great to see that again. When I think of ROBOTRON, I think of that picture of him in the boat. That dude was sharp.

It's also great to see the responses here. He was one of the best of a generally very nice crowd. We're missing you ROBOTRON!

As far as most posters on internet forums go, he was a true class act. Always hilarious, always respectful and genuinely nice.

Rest in Peace bro.

Would love to hear how he might introduce himself to St. Peter.

RIP Robotron. Sad stuff :(
even if it is a small token to the familly or something?
A wreath or a sympathy card is usual, but given Robotron's wish for a small family funeral, that may not be appropriate.

Given he was fond of helping others, how about finding out if there is a related charity that helps sufferers of his condition and we make a donation under the name of "Kinn / Robotron Memorial Fund" from donations from the board? Quite how that part would be done is a mystery but it seems the most fitting thing to do.

Did some searching around, and again - piecing together bits of info and guess work : http://www.apsfa.org/ - might be what we are looking for.

Donation page is there and you can donate in the memory of someone. Again, probably need someone closer to Robotron to make sure his family would be okay with this - and perhaps right away isn't the time. But the option is there.

I hate to be a rubbernecker but you're saying what killed him has been confirmed? In any case I think that would be a nice tribute.

I was thinking recently about doing a informal tournament...I don't think I have the time right now but I figure it might be worthwhile sometime to have a memorial tourney where we pick some of the kinds of games he would have liked and play them to put a focus on Mr. Robotron (I feel awkward saying Kinn). Just throwing that out there.

nope - making an assumption based on the details, hence we'd need someone to confirm for the donation to have the right meaning and, as i say, probably a bit raw for the family to talk about this and we'd need someone from the board who was close to Robotron to confirm.

This would be awesome.

His nephew said that apparently he had trouble breathing, so they called the EMTs. They arrived too late, however. My more medically minded friends say that given his problems with blood clots, and the fact that they could cause a problem like that, it's likely that is the culprit. Can't say for sure, however.

I know a pretty good mix of games he liked, if you want to throw together a tournament. Not all of them are shooters though :P

That would be fantastic! I'm pushed for time at the moment, but I'd gladly help with the organising/maintaining of that where I could...

How about a Lordstar commissioned t-shirt , complete with one of Robotrons quotes?

Sell it at usual Lordstar price + premium - with the extra going to the charity?

(Of course, that's putting a lot onto Lordstar's plate and i'm sure people are busy etc etc. Just a though.)
