Batsugun for saturn question

Post by akish1982 »

For those that own/have owned/or know someone who does own this game have you ever seen the spine card glued to the back of the case with a small spot of glue to hold it in place OR have you ever seen a copy of the game with a spine card that shows tearing/ripping on the reverse side (plain white side) as if it had at one time been glued?

I recently purchased a copy from someone and the card was glued by a small spot to the back. I didn't know it and ripped it slightly trying to get it off. I've own a lot of import saturn stuff and have never seen this practice but they say its how it came. I'm really particular about condition and now I have a spine that has a small tear only on the plain side.

WOuld anyone be willing to trade spines for batsugun as well and I'll throw in a couple bucks as well?

Thanks!

I have received maybe one or two music CDs like that over the years from Japan, and both were used and glued by a collector. I've never seen a game or CD come with a glued obi brand new, but maybe a couple batches came out that way. :(

I have Batsugun, but no obi. Sorry. :) Good luck!

I was check my copy and it has not this kind of thing that you are talking about. And i also do not really think that they was glued from the factory at all...And who say it is how it came? The one that you purchased from?

Anyway i hope you can find what you look for. Good luck!

Yes, the person I purchased from says it came like that new but I find it odd. I've owned the game several times and I've never seen it or remnants of it. There's no need to share a name at this time because I'm awaiting a response but I wanted to check the validity and make sure I wasn't incorrect in my thinking.

Many of the games in double-CD cases had their spine cards glued to the cases. On all the games I had the spot was easiy removable though with leaving any residue. And to my knowledge Batsugun had one of the slightly thicker cases as well and probably used a shrinkwrap and not a cellophane wrap, so I would image that it's very plausible that Batsugun's spine had a spot of glue as well.

Does anyone know of any other (cheap/easily obtainable) Saturn/Dreamcast games that come in the same type of slightly-larger-than-CD-case that Batsugun comes in? My case has a small crack in it, so I need a replacement.

I have owned multiple Batsuguns over the years with spine cards and do not recall anything like this. It's something I would notice, too.

Guilty Gear X on DC and Street Fighter Zero 2 on Saturn would be two obvious choices. Also the Sega Baseball titles on the DC (Pro Yakyu Team de Asobou...) came in the thicker cases. Dead or Alive 2 on DC as well.

Cheers. If anyone knows of any more, please let me know. I just need to scour ebay for the cheapest game that uses one really.

Virtual On on Dreamcast. I want to say Cyberbots, but I'm about 50 miles from my SEGA. There's a bunch of them really.

edit: Super Robot Wars F I think

Just had a quick look on my shelves and it seems that Cotton 2, and the SegaSaturn Collection releases of Terra Phantasia and Puyo Puyo Sun also fit the bill. Terra Phantasia has a white spine, though.

I never even noticed the difference in size until just now.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. Out of all of them I've checked on eBay, Street Fighter Zero 2 on the Saturn seems to be the cheapest at £5.99. Still a bit steep seeing as it's just the box I need... If anyone can come up with any more cheap/undesirable titles which are housed in these thicker boxes, that would be much appreciated.

I vaguely remember someone saying, long ago, that some golf title or other came in one of those large cases, and would be a cheap way to get one...heaven knows if that comment's even on here anymore, though.
