Cool Mobile Phone Shooters...
take a look at what Akatora (www.akatora.com) has to offer ... pretty cool shmups for mobile phones (for lots of models, even N-Gage) i've only played Bloody Fairy and Cross Black .... but im sure the others are pretty good.
now, playin shmups on a mobile phone, its NOT my thing... i preffer them on my GBA SP ... but since the ones that are there arent that good, i just dont play'em. i stick to my PC all the way.

The N-Gage is an obvious choice due to its d-pad. If you're looking for a proper phone on which you also want to play cellphone games, the SonyEricsson k700i/k750i models are very good. They have an excellent control knob and are great performance-wise, so they will play every game without slowdown. Their screen size is decent, too.D wrote:So what are the best phones to be playing shmups on?

Don't fall for phones with big screens. The ports are often a lot worse on them because the graphics are all bigger (but not necessarily looking better), but have to be squeezed into the same or worse jarsize/heap limits. Thus, lots of the "bigger" versions contain actually less of the games.
Oh yes, and stay away from the series40 line of Nokia phones or similar devices. The ports for those are usually the worst ones available.
