Now we're talking about translations of ~2000 year old words into a modern day foreign language. How accurate do you think it's going to be? The gist obviously is the same but it's the minutiae that everyone bitches about, ironically.

The hardcore fundamentalist Christians have a tendency to get around that problem by claiming that the assembly/translation of the KJV was divinely guided/inspired and thus inerrant. Seriously. A handful even believe that the KJV is a new revelation and thus supersedes the original texts. I wish I were making this up.

How did you manage to find my reply if you didn't read the thread? For instance, read neorichieb1971's replies. I liked how you were so quick to jump at the sign of any post that wasn't completely outraged at her, though. "Defending" is not quite the word I would use, seeing as I don't know a damn thing about her aside from Red Eye making fun of her (which basically covered all the same important topics this thread did), and quite honestly couldn't really give a shit. The mention of witchcraft pretty much automatically makes her a dumbass in my mind. I was just reassuring our lovely forum members that nobody is actually trying to outlaw their favorite pasttime.
