The lovely Tornado Terry's getting a mention. Last time I was there they had...

1943
Zero Gunner
Galaga
Metal Slug
Raiden 2

It's not a bad place, but it's too damned expensive now. Up to $10. Yeah it's free play for everything for as long as you're there, but dammit just a couple of years ago it was $7 and there haven't been that many additions made to the arcade games... just the redemption games.
Blow up self to involve enemies.

The only arcade I go to is Gameworks in Tempe AZ which has the usual racing and fighting games plus other random weird stuff like this thing that is a combination of a game on multiple projector screens and a ride. I go there sometimes solely for their fucked up Robotron 2084 cab. 12 cents a credit and since I'm the shit at Robotron that's a hour or two or more of playing time off a single credit.

My arcade days are completely in the past though when arcades were still popular and my parents dough would pay for it all.

A question to the posters that live in San Jose, CA or the Bay Area, what are the best arcades around there? I lived in San Jose for all my life up until two years ago and I'm wondering if there were any good arcades I missed. During my later years there, all I ever went to every blue moon was the Nickel City near Silver Creek since it was so close to my house.

There used to be two Nickel City in San Jose, now there's only one, off East Capital Expressway by 101. Last time I went there's Raiden Fighters 2, Giga Wing, Mars Matrix, Dimahoo, UN Squadron, Carrier Airwing, and some others.

The colleges around the Bay area probably have some shooters. The Sony Metreon has Dimahoo, but the screen and control is messed up. It's also a dollar to play. There are individual shmup machines scattered around SF, most in horrible shape.

Oh, mine. I don't know about this game mode, since I haven't have the chance to play this game at the acrade.

Could any of you favour this silly cat a discription on the "Black Label" game mode of DOJ?

EDIT: Nevermind, I was talking about Death Label myself...
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

@SAM: in short... the DDP-DOJ black label is not a "mode" inside the arcade game, but a new edition from Cave.

the 1st DDP-DOJ in arcade is now called DDP-DOJ white label it's the same as the PS2 version.
then Cave re-edited the game with minor changes and called this one the Black Label. it allow you to choose if you want 2loops or 1loop to finish the game, after that I don't know much what was changed in it :P perhaps the difficulty ?

the PS2 version have a special mode called the Death Label, but it's only a Boss Fight.

 I just remembered coming down the stairs, and seeing the stairs leading to the basement lined with posters with watery-eyed anime girls, and a bunch of single guys looking around nervously. Ahhh, the memories.
