Just started exploring the obscure world of x68k Caravan shooters: Zero Master Striker, Zero Rei, Star Fighter and Super Star Shooter (the inspiration for Super Star Shooter Advance).
Any love for these games here? And any more information?

Re: x68k Caravan Games
Super Star Shooter Advance was made by the same people, I think. It's more of a remake than a port. The original had a 5 minute mode, but no Options screen. There's a homebrew version for Wii which is supposed to be even better.
Star Fighter rips off not one, but FIVE shmups, taking graphics and/or sound from each; Star Soldier, Super Star Soldier, Blazing Lazers, Star Force, and Starship Hector.
The two Zeroes are interesting. They both last 3 minutes each, and get this; the speed you pick at actually affects your weapon. Low gets you a stronger weapon, but High gets more coverage.

Playing Zero Rei and it's MAD MAD MAD
Interesting that weapon strength varies inversely with speed and the way homing missiles are released when switching from low to high. I also notice that it won't save scores when the speed is set to a shameful 1 notch

It's quite fun to play Super Star shooter Advance on the GBA emulators or even on the Dingoo Digital A320 handheld with the proper 240 x 160 res format with A/V output on an old school CRT-based TV monitor just for the novelity factor alone.

I've got Super Star Shooter Advance on my Wiz. Nothing short of addicting.
