I could honestly care less about the moralizing (the fact that the right still heaps praises on a skirt-chasing self-righteous sack of trash like Gingrich is enough to convince me that there are no limits to their hypocrisy on this front) or the silly "witchcraft" thing - what concerns me most is the fact that she's gotten this far while offering absolutely ZILCH to her constituents in terms of qualifications for the job. What does it tell you that even the softballs she'd have gotten on Fox News Sunday weren't soft enough for her, so she runs to a total sick joke like Hannity? That's the way it's always been though. Every newly-elected democratic Pres has been lambasted the first week they're in office (or usually the months following). They've not even had time to put their fucking shoes on. We've traditionally let the Republicans fuck the world up before totally cutting them to shreds... except for Reagan, who still has some fans for some reason. And yet somehow conservatives are still allowed to constantly complain about being unfairly tormented and put-upon (and by extension maintain that their unhinged factions simply exist to "balance out" the frothing liberal hatred which permeates the globe), because George Soros secretly rules the world and even "moderate" liberals are actually hard-core Socialists who uniformly hate freedom and prosperity. The best part is that their favorite target, the "liberal media", always looks the other way, and will NEVER call them on this.

He's been permanently deified because he's the one who managed to, via a constant stream of grandfatherly "aw shucks" happy talk, "legitimize" the utter nonsense that makes up the modern conservative platform: claiming the mantle of "fiscal conservatism" while skyrocketing deficits and the national debt (as Cheney said, Reagan proved that deficits don't matter...until a liberal is in office), shouting from the mountaintop about "personal freedom" while sticking one's moralizing nose into the most private aspects of individuals' lives (but letting corporations do anything they please), and going on about how one represents "the little guy" when every aspect of one's policy is about taking away from the lower and middle classes ("welfare queens") and giving it to those at the very top of the earnings scale (back then they used to lie about it "trickling down" eventually; nowadays they outright tell 99 percent of the country that they're lazy and just plain don't deserve it).

In terms of the overall philosophy each governed by, Reagan and Bush were largely identical; the latter simply wasn't as good at selling it.
