Okay, so they're not on DVD. But they are pretty damn wild. There are no less than SIX games that got 33 points or above (enough for at least a minor award), and a couple more that got 30. (See this page for the games. Shadow Hearts 3 is damn tempting though.
Oh yeah, the game that would probably interest people here the most - Twinkle Star Sprites PS2 - got a 25/40. No love.

The actual content of the reviews is sometimes helpful, sometimes not. When a game gets a 6 or better they generally just talk about what they liked. You'll never hear any complaints until you see a core of 5 or less...
Hell, Mushi got lousy scores and only a couple people really said anything about it. Most said "good for fans" and left it at that.
Their scores are a joke anyway. People put way too much stock into what's essentially Gamepro/EGM of Japan.
That's basically what I've heard about Famitsu and I think it's hilarious when I go to any forum and see '[insert game title] GOT A 40 IN FAMITSU!!11'. Seriously, people act like they're the end-all be-all of game rating or something...
I think it's only because Famitsu RARELY gives out a perfect score of 40 that makes people put so much stock in their scores.
Only five games in the history of Famitsu have ever gotten a perfect score (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Soul Calibur, Vagrant Story, The Legend of Zelda:The Wind Waker, and Nintendogs). Whether there is any validity to their scores is anybody's guess.
Famitsu used to be awesome, and oddly enough, when EGM started going down under because of that crappy re-design, so did Famitsu..starting with those high scores of Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness.
They really are just the EGM of Japan now, big name but shitty game mag.

Don't forget their score for Medal of Honor: Rising Sun.
36/40 for the worst console Medal of Honor yet? .....ok.

Not to say that any of those games are bad but the fact that these are the few titles to ever receive perfect score from the mag is enough to make me question their reviews. Wind Waker?
