Coming out for the 360 on the 15th, along with King of Fighters: Sky Stage.
Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
Does anyone know if these are international releases or just on the jp store?
Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
For XBLA it's international release, For PSN seems to be the same (following information prices at the end of official launch trailer)Danza wrote:Does anyone know if these are international releases or just on the jp store?

Thanks for that! I'm looking forward to it, the iPhone game is fantastic.
Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
This is out today, on PS3 at least! I'm really, really impressed with it so far. The level design is fantastic, and the music mode is really cool. I didn't expect it to be this hard!

Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
Will this work with digital (dpad) controls? I've played the iphone version which I like, but think digital controls might be too slow.
Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
It's not out on XBLA in Australia yet

Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
It's now up for XBLA, along with King of Fighters Sky Stage (and Sonic Adventure).
Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
Awesome, just grabbed both.
Tried out Infinity Gene with my stick (although I only got half way to the second set of stages before switching it off, bed time). Controls quite fast, too early to give a solid opinion but it should be quite some fun!

I feel that 800 pts is a bit steep for this. 200 pts would be more fitting. This is from my (although) brief experience with the XBLA demo.

Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
Played through the normal mode once now, the game starts getting good once World 3 starts.. what is it with taito and bad trials(5-1 sort of shows what it turns into but that level is really easy). The bosses and level design get awesome on the last few worlds and I'm guessing also in the later bonus levels. Visuals and audio are like Rez on crack but it doesnt obscure the gameplay apart from one or two cases. Music is by cosio of zuntata and its great IMO.
I haven't played for score yet but just playing through on normal difficulty for survival was really fun, this one goes straight into my favorite XBLA games. You dont get any extends so 1ccing and scoring is hard.
The game has a lot of unlockables with all the ships, difficulties, challenge modes and bonus levels.

You're right. The digital controls start slow and accelerate after a second of movement to max speed. Using analog control, it's much better, but I wish the d-pad wasn't gimped like it is.Dave_K. wrote:Will this work with digital (dpad) controls? I know i'm gonna get jumped for this, but this game looks terrible. I mean, Rez and Geometry wars look really nice. This looks like it was on Apple 2.

Good game, definitely worth the $10 even if you already own the iPhone version, since it adds more levels, a challenge mode, and they actually make use of the full 16:9 screen. I actually like IG slightly more than SI Extreme 1 or 2, but I suspect I'm in the minority there.

Are the bonus ships from the iPhone version (Silver Hawk, Black Fly, Night Striker) along with its other unlockables available in the console version as well?Zaarock wrote:The game has a lot of unlockables with all the ships, difficulties, challenge modes and bonus levels.
Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
I think the 360 version looks great. I don't have an iGimmick so this is the first time I've managed to see what this game is really about.
I especially like how it starts off where you're only capable of moving left and right, then the next stage, you're able to move in multiple directions, next stage you're able to use autofire, etc. It's like the progression of shmups.

Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
Just got this yesterday for PS3.
Space Invaders + Daisuke Ishiwatari's Music = Crazy Tough.
Especially Mu-12's theme "Sword of Doom" and "Nightmare Fiction" (from BlazBlue OSTs)
Also, I highly recommend the Field Weapon (3rd to last you unlock) since it's great for beginners who have no sense of where enemies will appear. It isn't too rough on Bosses either, but effective at least.
Some of the bosses remind me of enemies in Radiant Silvergun, minus tons and tons of bullets, but all the same...a challenge. "Progressive UFO", "Vertebrae", "Crab" and "The Sun" are the hardest I've dealt with. "Unknown" is a challenge too.
Also, if you want a high score really quickly with lots of popcorn enemies...grab a song from Ingwie Malmsteen...hehe, I am not kidding.
LOL maybe I'll try Zun's music on this next.

The world would be a better place if there were less shooters and more dot-eaters.

Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
I already own this on my Touch, but I played this for quite a while last night. Very addicting. Tons of content here for only $10. The graphical style is definitely a love it or hate it type of deal. It's not an ugly game by any means, it's just an artistic style they went with. Though, I do think some of the backgrounds looks like crap... namely the ones that look like a vortex or the inside of an anus.
Love the ones with just straight lines and gradients though.

Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
Nah, the ship selection screen is already full without any DLC so I doubt they will add those. The only DLC will probably be 18 more bonus levels (3 bonus level blocks are grayed out)Vincent Draconis wrote:Are the bonus ships from the iPhone version (Silver Hawk, Black Fly, Night Striker) along with its other unlockables available in the console version as well?Zaarock wrote:The game has a lot of unlockables with all the ships, difficulties, challenge modes and bonus levels.
I'm going for an easy mode 9 life clear now, got up to 5-4 on my first try.. anyone got tips for the mandala boss when using lock-on? Thats the only boss I keep losing lives to.. the second outer ring point blanks me with the spherical bullets. (oh yeah and the easy mode 5-2 boss caught me off guard, it starts meleeing you with its blades right away instead of shooting anything!) Too bad the game is so long, if it were a bit more compressed it might be a lot of fun to play for score.
edit: ok, 4-missed (or huh, would that be 3-miss

I hate it. It works in some places but the backgrounds had me thinking that lines were walls when they werent and its easy to miss objects that are in the background.
Overall, the game is pretty decent. It is a very long game, though. Some of the bosses are cool and i think overall level diesign and chaining of levels is pretty fun but again way too long for me to invest my time doing so. The bonus modes are cool since they are short. The challenge mode is flat out dumb. 99 Levels and most of the time you have repeating levels. Becomes pretty redundant.

Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
so are there alot of content differences between the XBLA version on the iphone/itouch? Thinking about getting it, but dont want to buy it on both platforms.
Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
There seems to be some extra stuff in the 360 version, but they're pretty identical for the most part.Avatar Ignis wrote:so are there alot of content differences between the XBLA version on the iphone/itouch? Thinking about getting it, but dont want to buy it on both platforms.
I think the iPhone/iTouch version plays a little better to be quite honest. I like the vertical format better then widescreen for this. Also, control isn't very precise with the digital controls and movement is pretty fast. It's better with the analogue, but I think the touch controls win out in the end for me.
Funny thing, I've had IG on my touch for about 8 months now and I never even played all the way through it. I just don't game on the go as much as I do on my couch. So buying this on console actually got me interested in playing the touch version a bit more.
Either way, they're both great. Personal preference which you'd prefer I guess.
Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
Not just extra stuff, the new worlds 4 and 5 with the 3D graphics style make up at least half of the game in "normal mode". I haven't played the iPhone version myself but I prefer the level design and bosses of these new levels (some really good music too)subcons wrote:There seems to be some extra stuff in the 360 version, but they're pretty identical for the most part.Avatar Ignis wrote:so are there alot of content differences between the XBLA version on the iphone/itouch? Digital controls make you move slightly slower which makes using analogue sort of necessary if you want to get high scores .. sucks. Still, for any of the harder bosses I switch back to d-pad and it works fine.
Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
achievement help?

Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
I got that simply by shooting the UFO in stage 0 and playing the credit through. When Game Over, got the achievement. I'm thinking of the right achievement I hope.

Re: Space Invaders Infinity Gene (PS3/Xbox360)
Anyone know how to unlock insane/nightmare mode? I've played all the way through on hard (fuck, this game gets hard fast!), but it unlocked nothing but the achievement.
I'm guessing you have to play through some of the other modes or meet some requirement to unlock the harder modes, but I haven't gotten around to doing that yet.
Also, anyone found a good stage to get 1,000 Nagoya? Most obvious one I've found is the large UFO boss early on in the game, but I'm only getting like 300+ on him alone.
