:) It's an integrated stereo tube amp. Amp up top with all the tubes sticking out and the power supply on the bottom.
connected via the silver umbilical cord (back of the amp on the left side). It's a really simple amp. power switch
on the power supply. on/off knob on the amp and a volume knob. 1 set of inputs and 1 set of speaker outs.

That's the sellers photo. I'm too lazy to take photos. He used it on his desktop w/ a pair of monitor speakers. usb
cable was just hanging about.

others here: http://www.audiogon.com/a/g?Tube-Integrateds if you want to have a look.

price ranges are pretty fucking crazy.

That's fucking awesome. Never new Technics a CD version of their turntable so long ago... and always wondered why they didn't try harder this generation. Do you have any idea how precise the pitch fader is? Can you actually mix with it? Best practial joke ever would be to set 2 of those up at a bar and make people DJ on them.

Whats that one on the far left? Is that the Mega Drive version of Trouble Shooter or something different?

As long you got it off Audiogon you are saving big.

I need to get a tube amp for my Grado headphones soon. The Leben CS300xs looks delicious:

I just received the player today, along with the amp. Been a good day. Haven't had much time to play around with the unit yet.
Paired with the amp, it sounds excellent though.

The model is Technics SL-P 1200. There are some videos on youtube of people demonstrating the units abilities. Personally, I'm really digging it so far. Plays CD-Rs with no problems at all.

Domino! Audiogon or nothing for me buddy! What model Grados do you have? I was looking at the Leben earlier. It sold very fast. Any idea of what it went for?

The sequel is a BIG step up from the original.

If you're looking for it, it's usually called "Battle Mania II".

The RS-1is.

I didn't see how much the Leben went for but usually $2000 used. You can get one imported directly from Japan at $2600-$2700. When I hopefully get one I won't be going with the US importer since I found him lying his ass off with warranty.

I know the ones1  Wooden air chamber. What amp are you using with them?
I've read several reviews about those cans. Many of them describe the sound as "very warm", "rich bass" etc

I've been looking closely at these: but the price is still a bit out of my range ($500)

I'm using two vintage SS receivers: Marantz 2230 and Fisher RS-1035.

The cans do have warm features but they don't have a lot of bass compare to other cans. Then again it could be that I'm using SS amps and not tubes.

Personally I like my heavy with less-than-average bass, I like them lean.

Closed headphones like the AT are a missed for me. I just don't like the sound of many of them. Then again I'm really like the Grado sound as crack. I'm using the Gold1 cartridge on the VPI Scout turntable.

I'm really pumped to play it now. I was terribly disappointed when I looked it up and realized it was one of the rarer Mega Drive games, though. Story of my life.

Headphones:

I've had these for about 3 years now, love them. Super comfortable. Can wear for hours and I don't even feel them. I use an old, gigantic, 700lb Kenwood amp with them. They are light and tight on bass, just enough to let you know it's there without sounding bloated. The soundstage is expansive. I'm in another dimension with the right music on.

Those are really nice as well. Ya, they look really comfortable. I've heard about Beyer cans but
never listened to them. Just read a bit about your model. Lot of good reviews.
I'd love to see a pic of your vintage amp. Does it have two huge analog meters on it?
Man, I love those things. I don't remember the model(s) but Onkyo made some years back...
two huge meters w/ the traditional Onkyo green light shining on em. Fucking awesome.

I knew Domino was an Audiophile from previous chats, glad to see there's more of us
throwing money at achieving the perfect sound. Speaking of which, I'm retiring my
ipod Classic model for a used but mint Sony MZ-NH1 Minidisc player. The sound quality
takes a massive shit all over the iPod.

Still learning the interface. When I'm not zapped from jet lag, I'm really drunk, so I've only messed around with it for a whopping hour so far.

I also got one of these for my Macbook Pro

After several weeks of pondering what new TV to get, I finally decided that this was one the best fit for all my needs: Panasonic L37G20 LCD. As you can see I'm using it as my PC monitor as well as everything else. It's on top of my new TV unit in my newly redecorated bedroom. This configuration looks a hell of a lot better than it used to.

Image

I had the random impulse to buy some Transformers. I've managed to hold back the desire to buy any expensive Masterpiece grade figures so far. Here's the deluxe Swoop in his 2007 animated series design.

Image

And here's my all-time favourite Transformer, Grimlock. I love this redesign and it's a great sculpt, but quality control on the manufacturing side is shockingly sloppy. Paint applications are slapdash in places, but the main problem out of the box was that the arms didn't transform properly in robot mode. See the black part of the hind legs here? Those become Grimlock's elbows in robot mode, but the weren't retracting into the shoulder sheaths properly. I searched for a solution online and found a modification procedure on Allspark forums.

Image

Here you see the inside of one of Grimlock's shoulders after I disassembled the arm. The circled area shows a buildup of excess plastic that was preventing correct transformation of the arm. I chiselled out the excess with a screwdriver.

Image

LEFT: Fully extended elbow joint (beast mode configuration). MIDDLE: This is the furthest the elbow could be pushed up into shoulder slot originally. That's not how it's supposed to look. RIGHT: After modification, the elbow joint can now be moved into the correct position for robot mode.

I don't really own it, but had a chance to take some pictures. This has to be the most moronic military vehicle design since the armoured tractor units in The Big O:
