Back in the early 1990s, it was possible for employees to smoke inside employee breakrooms before California stepped in and declared it's tough anti-smoking laws. Nowdays, smokers have to light up outside any California business establishment due to folks complaining of breathing in second-hand smoke. I was always considerate of my fellow co-workers if they wanted to smoke inside the breakroom despite myself not being a smoker anyways. Those were the days when smoking inside retail businesses was considered the norm & accepted.

I recently went to the Doctors with sharp chest pains. He told me to stop smoking and the chest pains would go away. 4 days later he is right. Now the hard part, keeping up standards when i've got 220 cigerettes in the house. I must admit, at first I thought it was heart related, I thought I was a goner. I am 38 and smoke only 5-10 a day (usually). Shit happens, don't tempt fate.

I sometimes wish people in my family didn't have as robust health as they do. I mean, it would do my dad a lot of good if the smokes started affecting him and he had to quit. Not that I'm wishing anything bad happens to him. Just saying.

My grandfather was 90-something when he died, which is sort of amazing considering how he smoked. He didn't die from smoking, either. People seem to get affected differently. Second hand smoke alone makes me cough my lungs out.

Read the Allen Carr book. I smoked about 30 a day and quit about 7 years ago. The only tobacco I've had since are a few traces in joints, which I try to avoid. I was in the same boat as you... well, similar. I had chest pains every morning when I woke up. They went away when I smoked. So, I was probably in a worse spot than you come to think of it.

i quit no problem for like 8 months...then one day i was at my friends house playing games and i decided to have a smoke....stupid

just quit again a month and a half ago....

im done now for good.....im so sick of smoking.....now, even the smell makes me sick

it doesnt really tell you anything new, but it slams you in the face with the reasons why you shouldnt smoke, and it kicks aside the reasons/excuses we keep smoking.....by the end of it you are just looking at yourself in the mirror with disgust thinking 'fuck....am i retarded?'
