Another good PC-98 stg surfaced, Last Breakers

Post by Macaw »

Found by Ryo Cokey: http://www.pc98.org/lastbrea.html

Another game by C02-Pro, the ones famous for Flame Zapper Kotsujin. This one has Raizing style score system, Sonic Wings style cast, and other sexiness.

Looks kinda neat. Don't think I'll ever be able to try this, but thanks for the info.

What, you're a bird, you couldn't tell sexy if it landed on your beak.

Anyway, to be a true Sonic Wings style cast, it needs one less loli catgirl (meOW) and one more dolphin. Wait, they can get rid of one of the creepy-lookin' dudes

this one features eight different fliable spaceships and some really neat backgrounds. It's not of the bullet hell variety, but one shot will destroy your craft.
awesome never-before-seen features

Off-topic, completely unrelated to this thread: Every noob shmup developer, the first thing they say when they introduce their game idea, is always either "I want to make a bullet hell like Mushi or Touhou" or "I'm not so hardcore, so I'm not looking to make the next bullet hell or anything." 8)

That "one shot-one kill" (with big hitbox) feature of your fightercraft in Last Breakers harkens back to the early 1980s arcade shmup titles had that the same exact gameplay feature. Interesting find there, Macaw. ^_~

If you have no luck finding one, you could try emailling the guy who runs that pc-98 site to put up the image again (along with that gradius one aswell :))

heres a gameplay vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gtZZ8Qj8Q0

Edit: the tokugawa corporation forum might have it if you go digging thru it (try the top of page 23) Sorry for been a bit cryptic but rules are rules

no need the game is at that site (as part of a compliation pack) i mentioned above, just look at the top of page 23, pc-98 uploads

(if ur still cant find it PM me)

btw L Breakers and that gradius clone are the same doujin circle who made flame zapper.

I wonder what comercial shmups are for the pc-98, like compile. I know theres a ton and half released for the mmx-2 but i just dont like the jerky scrolling of its games.

Gaaaah, I wish PC98.org didn't get rid of the links so quickly, namely because every there's something that interests me up, it's last week's news... -_-
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.
