I have a few questions about Namco's Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune twin deluxe sitdown arcade machine that has a 2004 copyright date (at least on the USA arcade machines):
1.) What arcade hardware does the Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune run on?
2.) How far have you gotten in "Story Mode" when playing WM-MT game?
(I have beaten the first nine CPU oppenents but racing against the "3" CPU oppenents on the 10th stage is hard-as-hell!)
3.) It's cool that WM-MT uses the player memory cards to save their custom upgraded car data and scores. How does one check their WM-MT driving times against the best WM-MT players in Japan?
4.) I've noticed that the arcade monitor on my local WM-MT machine is the same type of monitor found on a Namco Tekken V arcade upright cabinet. Very sharp for a flat-screen type of arcade monitor -- are they multi-sync type of monitors or just 15 kHz type low resolution monitors?
5.) How many different player WM-MT memory cards are available for purchase?
6.) Is Namco going to release Wangan Midnight or Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune as a PS2 game for the USA PS2 console market? (They would be smart to do so...IMO is a much better racing game than the arcade Ridge Racer / Rave Racer / Ridge Racer V sit-down machines!)

2) I've actually cleared all 3 loops of Wangan Midnight MAXIMUM Tune. In the 2nd and 3rd loop, you actually face someone very special. ;P
I can't play Maximum Tune anymore because my car data has been transferred to Maximum Tune 2.
5) I've seen the Black/Red card, the White/Yellow card, and the White/Blue card. But that's the only 3 I've seen.

One of the X-Box h/w based systems, I believe.PC Engine Fan X! wrote:1.) What arcade hardware does the Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune run on?
The first Wangan Midnight is aging a bit, so that seems unlikely. The fact that they didn't get it here before Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 (Shutokou Battle 01) was released... it just doesn't look good.PC Engine Fan X! wrote:6.) The relative popularity of MaxiTune and MaxiTune 2 makes me surprised that Namco hasn't done an X-Box port. Maybe the U.S. arcade port market is just too small of a niche, considering the low likelihood of an X-Box game selling very well in their home region of Japan. Which makes me realize that despite the following that Initial D Arcade Stage has, no one has released the PS2 Initial D Special Stage outside of Japan...
