Apart from Streets of Rage 2 which is all round less tedious and better paced throughout.
It probably is a better game than Final Fight, but it's not even top 20 bmup material. Quite possibly the most overrated game of all time.

I guess I have nothing to add to this thread than off topic stuff. Well, when I was younger I used to be one of those creepy people who plays very little and just watches other people play.
IGMO - Poorly emulated, never beaten.

On its own, theres nothing really wrong with that.. However, when you combine the above with talking/mumbling to yourself, extreme body odor, wild game-triggered gestures, or your index-finger two knuckles deep in your nose, that is when you become an arcade personality.

If anyone's seriously suggesting that that hand is attached to the rest of him, it's no wonder I can't 1cc a coin slot.

And it has Max Thunder. Simply the best and most badass character in a Sidescrolling Beat ´em Up ever.

Went to HEY again today. Guwange girl was there in full effect. I was a bit surprised, as I was expecting some tiny Japanese girl dressed up as a French maid tee-heeing her way through the game. I think guwange girl should be renamed to guwange lady. Shes actually quite old (perhaps late 30s or early 40s) and I snapped a pic as she was playing. :D

yeah, yeah - I know - back of the head, but so what. Best I could do today. Anyhow, I watched her run a 1cc on that machine. Very impressive.

I named her Guwange Girl because of the alliteration (like a Garbage Pail Kid!) but you're right, not a young lass. 40s, though? She's pretty butch, so hard to tell. Ageless, in my mind.

Progear Posey, the aforementioned Progear and Ketsui queen, is more the petite maid-type.

Progear and Ketsui? That's most likely Futobishi. She once had world records in either game. Didn't know that was a girl, that's pretty nice!

I don't think she's that old...I'd guess early 30s. I should make a point of asking her the next time I see her, haha, not like I have any reputation to lose.

Headphones / volume control. Only a few of the cabs have it. I plug in when I play Ketsui.

necro-bump (didn't want to derail the Stunfest thread).

Over the past three years Kamui has obviously gone from metro-dressed to full cross-dressing (as seen in his Stunfest/Wasshoi appearance). No bashing of course and he's still got my fullest respect for this Garegga skills - whatever he wants to impersonate in real life. He still looks better than most japanese new-halfs

Found this picture of RAM from the Shooting Festa 2010 event. Such a nice guy. Wonder if he's still at CAVE. I also had the Senko no Ronde girl somewhere but can't find the picture. Maybe NTSC-J or Adversity1 have one?

a long time back, about 15 years or so, there was a arcade near my place where my dad used to take me alot.
There was always this guy on the pacman cab, smoking bidi(rolled tobacco leaf, stinky harsh stuff) while playing. he used to play with his right hand rather than left. he could go on for hours together, and these were standup cabs.

Have you ever played any other beat 'em up games apart from Final Fight? Cuz Final Fight is so outdated, just like some other "classic" beat 'em up games like Golden Axe, Street of Rage, Double Dragon...Just because games like Final Fight and Double Dragon popularized the genre doesn't means neccessarily that they are the kings of the kind. There are many other retro beat 'em up games which not only they are much better, they also aged pretty well like Capcom's Punisher (and many other beat 'em up games from Capcom which aren't Final Fight), Konami's Asterix, Dynamite Deka/Die Hard Arcade, River City Ransom (which is much better than Double Dragon), Guardian Heroes and the list goes on.
